My mission is Love. Always has been, always will be. It's what I know, it's what I grew up with and it's my favorite thing to share and express in this world. Whether it's giving away Palo Santo sticks to strangers, loved ones or sharing a beautiful moment with a significant other. It brings me great joy and my intention is to do more of it in these wild times. We all get caught up in Life's bullsh*t from time to time however there are so many beautiful things to focus on that it's better to give energy to the latter. I struggle sometimes like we all do and get stuck on the negative which can cause disruption in the flow and throws us off balance. With that said, I'd like to share something new and old.

I wrote this song "Somos Todo Uno" which means "We're all One" about 14 years ago! It started in 2008 with a journey to Cuba to see where my parents were born and ended with a trip to Colombia in 2010 to see where my Grandmother grew up. It has a lot of Latino/Spanish influence from my childhood and some simple yet deeper messages with funny latin family sayings. I have preformed it live at some of my DJ sets on occasion and have been wanting to release it for a very, very long time however was waiting for that "perfect" moment or a producer friend to help me make a beat. It never came, or better said was delayed because of everyone's busy lives including my own distractions with running a business - especially since I'm not a full time musician. 

NOW is the time! I was also challenged in how I would present it. Should I share it, sell it, put it on multiple platforms or just give it away. I also wanted a new performer name since these are original lyrics I wrote. DJing for me started with Osiris Ishpa Palo, then OsEyE however it didn't feel like the right fit. Eventually the vision for the name "Cuervo Blanco" came to me on a camping trip with friends in Ashland Oregon. It means White Crow (yes I have seen one in the forest, they exist!), representing the Phoenix rising from the ashes. According to Native American tales, the Crow would warn the Buffalo of hunters in the area and as a result there was a great famine as the people starved to death, thus blaming the Crow who was originally white. They caught Crow and threw it into the fire however it survived and flew out charred and turned black. The Crow promised never to warn the Buffalo again because it did not realize it was hurting the people of the land. The Crow stands for Truth, Justice and the Native American way!

Muchas gracias, big thank you and much gratitude for Luke aka Saqi and his brilliance in helping create a beat for this track, which I think came out really nice (ironically a verse says "mira lo que Pasa Aqui" and sounds like Saqi) if you hear it). It actually took us 3 takes in 3 years to finish it (one meeting a year '20, '21, '22.) I think we nailed it on the first try however the file vanished so we had to recreate it - 2 plus a final version. I still have the original mp3 but will keep it to myself, maybe. We really met once a year which I find that to be very funny since this song has been in my head for so long.

Anyway, here it is. I hope it stands the test of time even though most of you never heard it so enjoy. Share it, like it, send it to a friend who understands Spanish or just give it a listen.
