Tapping into a seemingly endless flow, Riddim Fernandez lays his next EP on Woodwork, after his widely favoured Slip Hop EP. He is calling this one 'Illa Illa' after the enchanting title track, a dub saga unto itself. It opens the set regally, welcoming those that need and those who know, into a diligent producer's expanding world, where an established signature sound is rapidly evolving.

'Give it to dem' lowers the drawbridge with it's menacing and plodding feel, enabling and inviting, but warning there may be no return from where we are now headed.

Once inside, Riddim unleashes all sorts of dub mayhem with the thoroughly satisfying junglistics of 'Night and Day'. He follows this through deep neon chillout vibes on 'Head Hurtin', with a frantic vocal that contrasts lush jazzy synths in the best possible way. 'Can't Let Go' enlists a similar aesthetic, but this time the beats are frantic, while the voice is more fragile, and again the jazz-flavoured chords over pristine beats.

'When the Bass is Phat' properly summarizes the EP, with a fusion of heavy hip hop beats, half time drum n bass shredding over top. and the soundclash vibes that tie it all together.
