Our featured international artist this month is @yoelsimoni [@Parallel-perceptionseries / OBSCURE] Tel Aviv, Israel

Originally from Istanbul and now living in Tel Aviv, Yoel has been involved in making a huge impact by creating online platforms and running a crew pushing boundaries in not just local but international Techno stage. OBSCURE is a collective that Yoel and friends and initiated 2 years ago and since have been running very successfully out of Tel Aviv hosting weekly events. Early this year, the collective went on to create Parallel Perception, a platform that has been showcasing some of the greatest international acts.

Yoel’s style has been greatly influenced by his exposure to electronic music from a very young age. This has helped him carve his unique identity in creating engrossing shamanic sets that clearly shows his mastery on the genre. This mix he did for us is an absolute wonder that starts with melancholic ambient sounds and slowly builds up to what could be his best work yet!

The Munich-based musician has been one the busiest in 2020 with releases on our beloved On Board Music label but also on her very own IO, she runs with Dycide and MTRL. An excellent EP on French imprint Lowless, we particularly dig, has recently seen the light too. Her deep and atmospheric productions are always full of emotions, intense and are a perfect interpretation of modern Deep Techno. When Polygonia is not producing or behind the decks, you can also find her making V/J for bands or doing new instrumental & experimental collaborations. For the 32nd episode of our podcast series, we are very happy to great the Berlin-based DJ Sabine Hoffmann.

Playing last summer at our Ambient open air Art Bei Ton x Waxing Phases, she brings us, through her Ambient/Techno set, to meditate between some atmospheric and cosmic vibes.

Sabine was born and raised in Berlin. She grew up listening to a diverse array of hip hop, soul, funk and crossover beats. Sabine discovered her passion for spinning vinyl around the early 2000’s, when she was first exposed to electronic music. She plays a deep blend of techno, electro, Chicago & Detroit house with nuggets of acid, funk and breakbeats rolled in.

But regardless of the style, you will always find Sabine playing vinyl only sets as she prefers the warmth of analog sounds and the classic feel of turntables. She has played at almost all the leading clubs in Berlin such as About Blank, Salon zur wilden Renate, Berghain Kantine, Griessmühle, IPSE, Farbfernseher, Golden Gate, Arena Club and the list goes on. Her international profile has been steadily increasing, she already played in Tbilisi, Paris, Baku, Yerevan, Krakow and Thessaloniki to name a few.

Sabine is the founder of “Frauengedeck”. It´s an event series focusing on an all female line up. She wants to support and present female DJs. She has held many events at different clubs throughout Berlin like Wilde Renate, Griessmühle, Farbfernseher and Beate Uwe. The first international events outside of Germany, were held in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia other country's will soon follow.

Since 2016 Sabine works at the well known OYE record shop in Berlin. She is also hosting a monthly Frauengedeck livestream, which is streamed from the OYE record shop.

She finished her Audio Engineering studies at SAE. Inspired by her gained knowledge, she started putting her focus on music production. The first result, a collaboration with No Mad Ronin is available on the label Zaijenroots.

The Chaos Computer Club is Germany's primary source for futuristic and alternative thinking since the 80s. Each year between Christmas and New Year's Eve, this association gathers hackers from all over the galaxy for a huge congress. Under the given conditions, the convention had to move to an online exile for the 2020 edition: The "Remote Chaos Experience" (RC3). Music and all kinds of arts are an integral part of these conventions - this set is one of the contributions to the four-day streaming marathon that soundtracked the RC3 (27 - 30th of December, 2020).

Sakuma is a 30-year-old DJ based in Tokyo. Raised in Niigata, with a huge interest in music, especially metal and experimental, and emerged as a DJ in 2010. He moved to Tokyo in 2015 to pursue his music carrier and started his party ‘Modest’ two years later, in which he has invited artists such as Valentino Mora. Other than Modest, he has played alongside with DJ NOBU, Rrose, Marco Shuttle and more artists at clubs or festivals like rural and Re:birth. Not only as a techno DJ, but also as a house DJ, he has experienced to be resident of Oath, a quality club in Tokyo focused on house music.
