Kohib is back in Beatservice action, joining forces with vocalist Karoline Stensland on the delightfully deviant 'Take One'.

Since releasing the mesmerising 'Today's Tales Of Tomorrow' last year, Øivind Sjøvoll took a short break from his Kohib project to deliver some heavy dancefloor textures under his Ransel alter ego. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait too long for Kohib's return, and he picks up where he left off with a typically refined slice of subterranean immersion.

Fans of Sjøvoll's back catalogue will know to expect the unexpected with each evolving release, and, true to form, the producer, DJ and party promoter keeps audiences on their collective toes with a distinctly floor-focused turn.

'Take One' sees crunching house drums power aberrant bass and detuned synth lead as brooding acid and tension-building strings add to the nocturnal mood. Karoline Stensland pitches in with a stirring vocal performance, flitting between snarling spoken word to searing soul as verse transitions into chorus.

Driving, elegantly sinister and steeped in soul, this is certified dancefloor fire from Kohib.

Freudenthaler establishes himself on the scene as a producer whose style is characterized by warm, jazzy, deep, and soulful sample-based house music.
For the 21st release by FRI, Freudenthaler takes a stylistic excursion, exploring the territories of rumbling acid sounds, resulting in the 4-track EP 'Wuanga.' Here, Freudenthaler demonstrates that he is not a stranger to analog sound, predominantly relying on the acid 303 and analog bass sequences, thus maintaining his gritty signature sound.
What defines this EP is an interesting blend of various stylistic elements and ideas, such as African-themed percussion rhythms and vocal chants combined with square bass and warm synths on tracks like 'Wuanga' and 'Jungle Rumble'. While achieving nostalgic analog warmth on 'Pingball,' the neurotic acid bass sequences on the track 'Trip' create a bridge between acid house and psychedelia.

Kicking 2024 off with an incredible edit on our 'X-PRESSINGS’ edit series by London-based sonic duo Beyond The Struttosphere. They're currently dominating, showcasing their considerable musical production expertise and unwavering passion for cosmic, chugging dark disco.

Their debut EP released on Gouranga Music found much acclaim among Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston’s A Love From Outer Space online fraternity, also appearing on Juan Mclean’s (DFA Records) contribution to Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space mix series.
Propelled to newfound heights, the cosmic duo have since released a number of highly lauded EPs, remixes and edits on esteemed labels and now of-course on our ‘X-PRESSINGS’ edit series.

Beyond The Struttosphere’s music has made sonic reverberations around the globe and has been remixed by notable legends of the scene including; Rebolledo, Rigopolar, Vongold, Badknife and Mufti to name a few. The cosmic cowboys have been deep in the studio recently, working on new material, with live guitar now a mainstay of their productions. Their trademark sound combines resonant chugging basslines with reverbed guitar riffs, syncopated arpeggiators, 80s-inspired synths, vintage vocal samples, Italo drum fills and psychedelic 303 sequences.

OsloClubCast was initiated by Vinny Villbass in 2012 to promote the emerging club scene of the norwegian capitol. Every week, the clubs of Oslo sent resident dj´s to record their sets at the tiny venue Turkish Delight (RIP). The response, both live and online was massive!

Since then, OsloClubCast has been hosting recordings at festival stages and different Oslo venues, focusing on both legendary and fresh talents, spreading the essence of the norwegian sound.
