Abby Lee Tee (Fabian Holzinger, b. 1987) is an Austrian producer and DJ whom we once described as being more playful than an otter. His ever-evolving solo material has drawn on a wide range of influences from beat tapes to ambient, utilizing field recordings and unusual instruments. Abby Lee Tee’s work has shown up recently in Giovanni Lami‘s Tapeocracy mix as well as the Dinzu episode of the Sound Propositions podcast. He has produced a bunch of Guest mixes over the years, including Cold Spell Days & Hesitant Yearlings around this time two years ago.  We’re very pleased to share his second mix for ACL, young frogs & golden lakes. His first mix was "a laid back mix of beats and ambient sound composed while overcoming a cold during the recent transition to Spring," so this is the perfect moment for a sequel. Enjoy!

Artist bio (SK.LIBRA > she/her)
SK.LIBRA is a Frankfurt based DJ who started out in 2016, when she played her favorite songs on her own self-organized party called LIT. Since then, she has played a lot of Hip Hop, RnB and Rap music but has more and more opened up to a more versatile array of sounds. By now, her multifaceted and well-balanced sound simply reflects her own private taste in music. Since 2018, she has been part oft the Frankfurt based DJ Crew GG VYBE and had different appearances with guest mixes for several radio shows.

What's your personal attitude/opinion towards gender (in)equality in club culture & electronic music?

Still this field is – as many others – men dominated. Though it seems to change in a slowly but positive way. Especially in my head. That time before a became a part of GG VYBE I unconsciously saw other female DJs as competitors and questioned their skills. Complete bullshit! So, I had to rethink my familiar image of women and draw a new picture. Therefore communities, such as GG VYBE are crucial to encourage and empower women and also to call attention to this imbalance.

And what are your personal experiences as an artist?

Personally I never had very bad experiences, that showed me this imbalance at first hand. But very often I’m wondering: ok, did they ask me, because they respect me a a DJ or do they only like my look or do they only have to meet the women’s quota.
   
What moves you?

- Good feedback, recognition from other DJs
- The feeling music creates in me in general, also the feeling I have when I’m mixing music
- That makes me really proud and amazed.
- People that I can exchange with about music and people that tell me about unknown music
- DJs and producers who create brilliant sounds are inspiring and motivating me to keep going.
