Having come up via the queer music community of Hamburg and now based in Paris, French artist Sylvio B has built a name for himself across Europe playing line-ups at Thuishaven, Dalston Superstore, Macadam, and many more. The Parisian now lands on Step Recordings with the 'Body Control' EP.

A low-slung EP characterised by brooding basslines and slick acid licks. Sylvio B kicks things off with 'Beauty Inside Of Me' and 'Dream State'. Two dancefloor cuts filled with hooky vibrant chords and melody, both backed with a deadly acid undertone. The title track 'Body Control' drives the EP into a dark atmospheric distinguished by a growling bass, an eerie synth and an echoing vocal hook.

From working as a cocktail waitress in strip bars, to pluming the depths of the DMZ of Naarm clubland, LONER (they/them) emerges as an electrifying new voice in dance music. Having made their bones DJing at queer and underground parties across Australia and the UK (Confide, Joyride, Junk, Club77), as well as iconic hotspots like Revolver, Music Room and XE45, LONER’s sound is forged in the sweat and strobe of late-night dance floors. 
Their debut EP “Meet Me On The Podium” is both an acknowledgement of their time working in girl clubs, and a declaration of love for the dancefloor. It’s a total body takeover, with a sound that’s been sculpted by hard house, emotional breaks, and euphoric rave energy. EP opener “My Love,” sets the scene - a euphoric, emotional anthem for lovers and ravers alike. “At Night” is breakbeat, it's lo fi, it’s that unforgettable vocal, it's emotionally devastating, with a hook that will swirl and reverberate around inside your brain cave for eons. “Can’t sleep at night” is the message, but who is able to sleep when LONER is at the controls? The breakbeat rave siren assault continues on “Hurt Me No More”. Of course LONER doesn’t want to hurt you, but lets be honest this one is easily certifiably not safe for weak knees. For those that like their acid raw and you groove undeniable, and you have energy on the big-ish end of things “Big Energy ‘96” is the balm for you in these trying times. The words “absolute belter” get thrown around a lot these days but this is one that we guarantee 100% belter satisfaction or your money back. Closing out this colossal EP is “The Heat,” a scorching, tribal-tinged hard house banger built for peak-time chaos. Together, these tracks form a blistering introduction to what we believe is a major new talent. This is not a test. LONER is turbocharged and committed to commanding you to move when the lights drop low and the urge to dance takes over.
