Codec Recordings Presents Their Third Release - Redshift by Von Rausch

Von Rausch’s first EP on Codec Recordings titled “Redshift” is a minimal and experimental feat from the Switzerland based artist, and is accompanied by remixes from fellow label artists Assad Harri, Decoder, and Devil is a Bottom.

Opening the EP, Von Rausch brings us the title track, “Redshift”, filled with eerie plucks, subtle ambience, and the no-nonsense kick drum.

Assad Harri’s remix has a darker and more belligerent theme to it, with a rolling bassline and industrial kick drum.

Label boss Decoder introduces a more loopy and minimal take on the song, with sounds phasing in and out of tune.

Finishing strong, Devil is a Bottom presents a deep and nominal remix, with harsh melodies and an angry bassline.

Today we premiere Collision, the titletrack of the new release by Gateway X (https://soundcloud.com/gatewayx), which will be released by Monolith Records (https://soundcloud.com/monolith-records) on 28th December 2020 in mini CD and digital format. 

Collision is a gateway opening towards a different dimension evoking certain sci-fi movies and cyberpunk literature with its cold and distant sounds. It's a song dominated by a rhythm both recalling rhythmic noise music and the hardcore/punk and noise roots of these musicians, as the repetition of the rhythm and the rough sounds recall the DIY attitude and the sound of punk music, and as noise is an important element of their sound.

Mix of #Bionihil's unreleased home recordings: from the recordings in Chemnitz (karl-marx-stadt) in 2007 to the ones made in Valencia and in the mountains, to Berlin phase with unreleased AMOR track, flamenco collaboration with Alberto Santacruz (DIY1990, ALTAR) adding a vocal improvisation on traditional Belarusian folklore following recitation of the poem by Belarusian poet Danuta Bichel-Zahnietava. Ending with pandemic classic guitar exploration.
