Friday Afternoon

I wanted to apply a 2 chords progression to a new song, but was constantly reminded of other songs on 2 chords and wound up writing a medley of three pieces.

From 1966,. "For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield, with Stephen Stills as song writer and lead singer, and Neil Young, Bruce Palmer, Dewey Martin and Richie Furay as co-members.

From 1969, "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by The Rolling Stones, with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards as songwriters, Jagger as lead singer, and Brian Jones, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts as co-members.

From 1972 "Walk on the Wild Side" written and sung by Lou Reed.

farmers are despairing
soybeans do not sell
jobs are disappering
we're not feeling well
most food is not affordable
water isn't clean
foundation is unstable
house is cavin' in

we don't like James Vance a lot
don't like him at all
a furniture harlot
outlines his eye balls

paved with concrete
We dont need a ballroom
ninety thousand square feet

Need No King

we went down to the park
for a round after dark
there we found kenneth clark
and the hound of ned stark

we found a bundle of quarks
giving off colored sparks
but being drowned by the dark
we didn't find any snark

on some plonk made from peach
we got drunk on the beach
then we sunk out of reach
of the muffled blue funk speech

we went back to our dome
along a track made by gnomes
a frackin' half finished drome
a trail of half-finished poems

then we got stuck in a loam
but a whack with a brome
opened up the biome
so we hit our shack and were home
