Oss is short for the Ostrich, an animal infamously known for getting scared and putting its head in the sand. In a world where we are fed media from so few sources, it’s very easy to have tunnel vision and when something new comes to the room…Bam! Like an ostrich we put our head in the sand, we ask for the same restaurants, the same burger from the same drive through, even though on TV they’re promoting some new sh*t that WE all know is going to be gone in a month or two anyways. Yeah, I’m breaking the third wall, and I’m talking to you. You just like I have been an Ostrich! Scared, scared to step out of our comfort zones.
Well Oss is here to change that. Oss is the one of a kind website of media immersion. A music and culture blog with a focus on the unique, the slept on, and the great. Breaking our heads out of the sand, we won’t reject the unfamiliar, we’ll search high and low, try different things, go different places, and then we’ll share them with you. Located in the Inland Empire of California, Oss will discover Southern California’s (Inland Empire, Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego) hidden gems. We’ll follow the music that we think jams from our locals, to the independent artists, and even the mainstream. Classical to Jazz musicians, Heavy Metal to hip hop, Oss is here to find out what everybody’s been missing.

Oss will also provide news and current events so you can keep up with the world. We’ll follow a mix of U.S. and International articles. Covering sports, weather, science and technology and politics; Oss will keep you current on the goings on in the world, so you can stop getting all of your news from Jon Stewart, yeah, I’m still breaking the third wall, and I’m still talking to you. We at Oss feel, as many of you may as well, a little bit jaded about the current news media. One leans too far left, one leans too far right, they never talk about the issues, they just bicker like children. We firmly stand behind the belief that a healthy democracy is an informed democracy. Therefore it is our ethical duty to source and cite all information that is available for any news article. Oss takes no political stance, or religious affiliations, when we say we’re delivering the news, we will deliver the news. Unbiased, cited, and reliable.
Before I Finish, I want to admit that just like you, I was, and have been, an ostrich. I would reject the unfamiliar, kept my blinders on, I went to the same places, and had nothing new to say about the world. So the last part of the Oss experience that makes it one of a kind, is that I am going to share my travels with you. As I try new things, I’ll share with you parts of my story, and as we, yeah we, like you and me, yes, we will grow together.
