El cierre de Refractor 2023 con @djhighfuture fue uno de los momentos más mágicos que vivimos en esta primera edición. Tras el set de Parallax y como colofón final, High Future puso el broche de cierre con un set de 120 minutos de trance y progressive cargado de sonidos melódicos y baleáricos que hizo de estas dos últimas horas de baile uno de los momentos más recordados de Refractor 2023.

Refractor 2023 closing with High Future was one of the most magical moments we experienced in this first edition. After Parallax's set and as a culmination, High Future put the finishing touch with a 120-minute set diving between old trance and progressive, full of melodic and balearic sounds that made these last two hours of dancing one of the most memorable moments of Refractor 2023.

TikTok Teens is the debut album of Super 180, brainchild of visual and sound artist Del.Duc and fellow producer Côme.

Hailing from southern France with a unique approach to dancefloor songwriting and a particular taste for mind-melting hooks and psychedelic sound design, the duo bring to light a little gem almost out of nowhere that is set to shine for years to come. Not a single filler on both sides, every track brings a charge of fresh energy with truly memorable moments that once heard seem to imprint the mind of the listener forever, guaranteed by the source.

The six tracks move across a broad spectrum of genres seamlessly shifting from entrancing peak time techno-ish bagners, heavy bass loaded idm torn apart by overtones screaming synth lines, blissfull emotional breakbeat nostalgia and everything in-between, always avoiding to lean in the clichès and pushing the envelope further while keeping all the elements tight and a clear-cut vision from the first to the last bar.

A sense of ecstatic euphoria infuse the whole record which combined with a detailed forward-thinking production and tasteful arrangements makes it a perfect soundtrack for the third millenium braindance specialists.

Mannequin Records is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of Chromium Industries, a double LP (MNQ 162) capturing the innovative spirit of two pioneers of electronic music: Andrew Lagowski and Paul (Howie D) Howard. This long-anticipated album marks a return to the seminal sounds of the Chromium Industries label, which emerged as a crucial platform for boundary-pushing techno and electronic music in the 1990s.

Andrew Lagowski, a name synonymous with exploration in electronic music, has been at the forefront of sound innovation since the early 1980s. Known for his work under various aliases, including Lagowski, Legion, and S.E.T.I., his early output in experimental and industrial sounds paved the way for his later techno-focused ventures. Albums like Knowledge (S.E.T.I.) and Nadir (Lagowski) highlighted his pioneering approach to unconventional sound sources and production techniques. In the 1990s, his work with Chromium Industries brought him into the techno spotlight, with a series of influential 12” singles that helped shape the electronic music landscape. With over 60 albums and 10+ singles to his name, Lagowski’s versatility and dedication have garnered him a loyal following and lasting influence across genres.

Paul Howard, aka Howie D, brought his DIY ethos from the punk scene of the 1970s into electronic music. As a founding member of The Frames and co-founder of the Brain Boosters and Spacematic labels, Howard has consistently pushed boundaries. His early forays into hip-hop saw him release the genre-pioneering jazz-rap track Miller Light as Fission. The transition from punk and hip-hop to electronic music was a natural one, culminating in his creation of Chromium Industries after a fateful night hearing Lagowski’s Vermilion at a London party. The label brought some of the most unique techno releases to the scene, with tracks like Blue Anomaly causing near-riots on the dancefloor. Since then, Howard’s work has evolved to include multiple aliases, including The Legend That Is, Phase Collective, and Skulpture.

Chromium Industries 2xLP is more than an album; it's a legacy preserved and reimagined. The double LP transports listeners to an era when electronic music was in full experimental bloom while showcasing the genre’s continual evolution.

Chromium Industries 2xLP will be available for purchase from January 2025 through Mannequin Records and select distributors. This is an essential release for collectors, DJs, and anyone who reveres the legacy of 1990s techno and the boundless potential of electronic music.

This compilation unites music from Mutant Radio’s friends and residents, with all proceeds directly supporting political prisoners, their families, and activists across different regions of Georgia. The struggle continues until every political prisoner is freed and new elections take place.

Whether on the streets, in our space, or through the airwaves, we remain firmly alongside the movement. Without true freedom, creativity is silenced, culture fades, and Mutant Radio cannot exist.

M Parent - Apocalypse Now

@qwqwqwqwa is an artistic outlet of producer and DJ Grigorii Gribov. In his live shows he explores bassy, glitchy micro-percussive music, navigating between UK bass, techno, ambient breaks, illbient, and downtempo with a touch of early 2000s IDM.

He has released albums on labels like Grid, and Neoplasm and contributed to compilations by Comic Sans, Xpone, Neoplasm, Radio Fantasia, 29 Speedway. As a Dj and selector he made podcasts for NTS, Rinse France, Retreat, Mutant, Ola, syg.ma, Kiosk, Gimic radios.

His latest mixtape Rejecting Fragility, released on Xpone, 2024, is a recorder of emotions and experiences collected during a year of immigration to Tbilisi. Delving into new surroundings, the mixtape acts as a postcard that envisions the technogenic bustle of Tbilisi. Similar to Fashion Music for Scammers, the release takes shape of a diary entry and attempts to record the constantly fluctuating moment of emotional fragility, where the atmosphere within the magical and serene corners of the city’s surroundings switches up rapidly with its concrete coldness, and the deep wormhole that is its nightlife.
