Driven by a motivation to unite the dance floor with fast-paced hypnotic techno, her aim is for the listener to leave their inhibitions at the door and lose themselves in the moment. 

Only beginning to mix in recent years, she is already a Resident DJ for Klub Verboten, as well being part of Sisu Crew’s 2022 roster, whilst her sets are regularly heard on Reprezent Radio.

D.Dan at HÖR BERLIN, July 6 2022

Based in Copenhagen, the half Danish half South Korean musician Schacke has been producing sounds of a large variety of different styles since their early teens. Starting with a background in Metal, Noise, and Industrial, Schacke has continually shown a determination to expand and evolve their universe through the exploration of electronic music. Since moving to Copenhagen around ten years ago, Schacke has run an underground label for experimental music, co-owned and run the legendary Mayhem venue in Copenhagen, and released music under a variety of different aliases on local and international labels.

As one of the original members of the Fast Forward collective and agency, Schacke has played a significant role in shaping and defining what has become known as the ‘’Copenhagen Techno Sound’’, which they helped pioneer with their first two techno records on the now-defunct Ectotherm label between 2015-2017 started by Mama Snake and Courtesy. Schacke is also a resident DJ and event organizer at the famous queer sex parties by feminist porn production company ‘’Bedside Productions’’.

Schacke has recently used their musical versatility to make soundtracks for anything from porn movies, feature films, and runway shows for major fashion brands and designers in Paris and New York.

Schacke draws inspiration from a wide range of different genres, usually using techno as only a template to explore and make genre bending fusions using a mixture of unlikely sources. With the combination of hard-hitting beats and rolling baselines, usually mixed with catchy leads and euro vocals, their tracks are always bound together with a precise execution of delicately layered textures, making Schacke’s techno distinctly recognizable yet strangely unpredictable. His debut album 'Apocalyptic Decadence' is out now on Instruments Of Discipline.

Endurance MixXx #2 Peachlyfe

“Kotti Island Disc” is a collaborative concept album which provides a foundation for the overall project “Kotti Island”, a multimedia exhibition at Kottbusser Tor in Berlin in January 2023. In collaboration with ten artists, various conceptual tracks were produced that are inspired by Kottbusser Tor. The multifaceted environment of “Kotti”, as it is locally known, offers an ideal surface upon which to play with and emphasize auditory details that can stimulate the way we imagine what this place means.

This exploration of Kottbusser Tor began with a series of field recordings made by the musician Cecilia Tosh, who is also the artistic director of “Kotti Island”. These field recordings, which create space in between extremes, form the basis of the album. They are collected snapshots, some of which have been sonically 
de-contextualised, while others directly reproduce what was recorded—sometimes interpreting, sometimes documenting. The result is a sample pack composed of ambient recordings (which have been barely edited), edited recordings (which have been re-worked), shorter loops (percussive to melodic elements and basses) and vocalists (newspaper articles, online reports, Wikipedia entries and the artist’s own texts).

The composition of each track was preceded by a meeting with Cecilia Tosh at Kottbusser Tor, where the space was analysed in both auditory and visual terms and the atmosphere was absorbed. Afterwards, each participating artist received an individual sample pack with the field recordings as well as video clips depicting everyday situations at Kottbusser Tor made by Juma Hamdo and Jaś Miszewski. While the sample pack was meant as an inspiration, each artist was also required to use at least one element from it when composing.

“Kotti Island Disc” includes ten musical interpretations that show Kotti as a diverse and lively place. The project is intended as an artistic snapshot of a place in a constant state of flux. It is, furthermore, an invitation to participate in an auditory journey through Kottbusser Tor accompanied by ten very different artists.

Originally released on vinyl by R&S in 1994, ‘Meditation Will Manifest’ was re-earthed in 2016 by Nina Kraviz and Ricardo Villalobos, becoming a secret weapon on dancefloors 22 years after its original release. On December 16, ‘Meditation Will Manifest’ gets its first digital release on R&S.
 
Josh Wink has always been ahead of musical trends and walks his own path in dance music. From a young age Wink was exposed to different mysticism and consciousness philosophies. “It wasn’t a big, popular or trendy thing to do at the time, but I was 14 and just did what my mother did… Releasing tracks like ‘Meditation Will Manifest’ and ‘Higher States of Consciousness’, people looked at me as being this deeply profound spiritual guy, but I never really thought about it in that way, even though I’m really into repetitive, transcendental and meditative rhythms. @ldstechno aka Luca lives in Stuttgart, Germany. For a couple of years he has been focusing on producing fast techno. His last record on Monnom Black was the latest result of this mission. He always tries to give his music a conceptual frame. For the last year this frame has been the area around the digital developments and achievements in our world. His affection for synthesizers has therefore turned from his initial enthusiasm for old analogue synthesizers to a purely digital way of working and by that he means explicitly: FM synthesis! Even though you might not hear it in his music, he is a huge Autechre fan and their music is everything that excites him about Art: it is an explicit vision of a new modern world! Music that sounds so technological.
