Field Records is to release a two-CD compilation of music from the label's artists old and new entitled simply, Collection. 

The first of three samplers features Acronym, Ben Buitendijk and Voiski. Acronym's track '16 Cygni' is a sci-fi bit of techno that is speedy, slick and intergalactic, whilst Ben Buitendijk offers up some Millsian, streamlined techno urgency with his 'Colourblind' and finally Voiski gets all elastic and industrial tinged with his whip lashing effort.

ON007 comes courtesy of shadowy producer Cliche Morph. Hailing from Belarus, the young, low-profile artist created some buzz by his stand-out track "Overwhelming Fear" from last year's Semantica compilation Index. Part One. The immaculately produced ON007 proves that track wasn't a fluke and solidifies his status as a talent to keep an eye on. The Fanon Flowers remix is the cherry on top.

Marco Bailey's MATERIA brought a new generation of party to the magical island of Ibiza this summer, with a focus on raw underground techno, Marco's vision for his first season at Vista Club Ibiza every Sunday brought top techno artists from all over the world.

After the successful release of XL1, which acted as a preview to what we could have expected this summer, Marco is honored to present the release of #MATERIA XL2 on MB Elektronics Recordings - and it provides a powerful collection of 21 tracks that were prominent throughout the unforgettable season at MATERIA.

Mixed down by Marco himself into a sublime set, it has a selection of tracks from MBR Limited/MB Elektronics regulars and also gigantic guests including Joachim Spieth, Nima Khak, Dany Rodriguez, Mikael Jonasson, Alex Bau, Shlomi Aber, Blawan, Sterac, Shifted, UVB, Marcel Fengler, Flug (Official), Sigha, Persuader, Soolee, Moteka, Yotam Avni, Alfredo Mazzilli and last but not least Marco Bailey himself with "Gravity Drag" from his forthcoming EP due out later this year on MBR LTD

The array of tracks across this compilation provides a powerful and pure electronic journey, placing it firmly at the forefront of underground #techno.

Caustic, dense and centred around complex but exquisitely executed percussive motifs and driven, rising sequences - many would argue an alliance between Shifted’s heady, monochrome recordings and Lucy’s beloved Stroboscopic Artefacts label is long overdue. The music draws on much of the British producer’s previous work, assembled carefully using a characteristic sonic palette - but as ever, Brewer finds fresh space between sounds - showing off a tentatively more extroverted side to his work. 

Title track The Light Touch is perhaps one of Shifted’s more idiosyncratic pieces. Instantly recognisable with it’s heavily granular finish and subtle shifts in delay and reverb composition, the track is rich with groove and moves relentlessly across it’s five minute run time. 

Seel showcases the artist’s talent for building tension with minimal elements - built around a single warping lead, noise tracks drift in and out of the mix to generate effective builds and subtle releases. EP closer, Mixen, riffs on it’s predecessor’s approach but strips back the percussive elements further and ups the ante with searing drone signals rising up above the lead sequence driving the track.

As ever, Brewer’s musical output looks to the heart of the genre - remaining true to purist sensibilities that favour economy of sonic components and studio prowess over unnecessary fanfare, but all the while forging new ground & refining a genuinely personal aesthetic. A powerful debut on a label in fine form that represents some of the best of the British artist’s work.
