'An obsession', that's what making music is for Gal 'Juju' Aner and Jordan 'Jordash' Czamanski, and Dekmantel couldn't be happier that these two possessed masterminds are working for them again in mesmerising ways.

Aner and Czamanski helped shape the Dekmantel label to what it is today – an ever expanding fortress of futuristic house and techno - by releasing two acclaimed albums and various singles on the Amsterdam based imprint. Now the duo prepared two of their out-flooded tracks in the form of their double a-side single 'Waldorf Salad/Third Planet From Altair'.

The title 'Waldorf Salad' refers to the legendary synthesizer that helped shape the landscape of clean, detailed yet warm electronic music. The latter is exactly what you’ll recognize in the a-side cut. Juju & Jordash smoothly ride the flawless waves of house music resulting in an unfussy, old school feel. Stirring and instantly infectious, the plodding synths make for an intriguing final chapter of this track.

The aa-side contains 'Third Planet From Altair'. Here Juju & Jordash redefine an anthemic journey with a more than nine-minute-long cut. It's a quick paced, gliding deep house affair with plenty of elegant synth work and closes out yet another essential offering from the duo.

Two years after the artistic statement that was their expansive third LP, famed live act and hardware lovers Juju & Jordash are releasing another full-length on Dekmantel. Clean-cut, a nine-track affair, comes lovingly pressed to vinyl in autumn 2014.

The duo fully embrace the album format, creating a tight tapestry of emotive and danceable sound that reveals more detail and depth with each new listen.  Textures range from organic and lush to synthetic and arresting. Deep-space serenity gets juxtaposed with more urgent and alien paranoia.

"Clean-cut is tighter, more honest and there’s less hiding behind a hazy screen of FX," say the pair.

The new release marks a clear evolution in the career of these singular artists.  Clearly, Clean-cut is another feather in the already resplendent bow of Juju & Jordash.

Juju & Jordash have a longstanding and tight relationship with the Amsterdam based record label and event powerhouse Dekmantel. Juju & Jordash are a staple on Dekmantel clubnights and festivals. This is their third full-length on Dekmantel, a further consolidation of their 5 year bond.

Dekmantel won the minds and hearts of electronic music enthousiasts throughout the world with their record label and club nights over the past 7 years. Dekmantel Festival –which saw its first edition in 2013– has seen unanimously glowing reviews for two years in a row now, further affirming the path Dekmantel chose to be the right one.

For Christoph, stagnation is not an option. Over the years, he has introduced several alias projects, labels and event series each showcasing his evolving artistry.

After five successful years with „Inhalt Der Nacht,“ Christoph sought greater musical freedom, desiring to create and perform music based on inspiration and emotion without being confined to a specific genre. Lately I had the chance to visit amazing record stores like Disk Union in Tokyo, Riviera Records in Munich and Syncrophone in Paris and gather some fresh records!!!

Yesterday, I turned the recorder on and went on a 2 hours journey in between house, tech house and techno with all the jams collected around.

House & Tech - Vinyl Mix

Juju & Jordash have been one of the most prolific and impressive duos of recent times. The pair made up of Jordan and Gal has now released four standout LPs, play truly live and mesmeric live shows around the world, work with Move D as Magic Mountain High and also have various accomplished solo projects. Of course, they are regulars on our Dekmantel label, and always conjure up emotive, complex and stirring machine made sounds from another galaxy. 

Now they have given us a special live recording for our next podcast. It is taken from their live show at iBoat, and as ever is a completely improvised session that finds them playing keys, synths and drum machines and jamming fluidly throughout. Switching up the sounds and styles as they go, the tempo varies subtly and the end result is an absorbing soundtrack that tells many a musical tale.  From outlier electronics to jacking house, it always retains an impeccable sense of melody and majesty that is hard not to love.

I’ve always loved imperfections. They make me feel more connected to whatever it is. Could be a faded polaroid with dust on it, a single cloud in an otherwise clear sky, or a clap that sounds different each time it plays. There’s something about the unpredictability, the raw edges, that makes things feel more real. Especially in music, that’s what draws me in. So when Upperberry reached out, it felt like the right moment to gather tracks that carry that same imperfect energy and to explore my own path through sound, drifting from dub into house.
