For our third release at Ostrich Recordings we are proud to welcome a veteran of the Rave and Acid House scene, Suddi Raval.

Suddi has been involved in the scene since the birth of Acid House and first rose to fame in the group Together, who along with his bandmate Jonathan Donaghy, wrote the anthemic 'Hardcore Uproar' which reached number 12 in the UK singles chart. A man with many strings to his bow, he has also scored the soundtracks to over 100 video games including Star Wars, Spiderman, Simpsons, Harry Potter, Batman, and is the author of the well respected 'A Brief History Of Acid House' book.

Suddi has also developed a live show, taking his acid and electro sound on the road, and it was one of these amazing live shows that first caught our attention:

Twinkore sets the tone of the EP: haunting dystopian strings, fat & crispy 808 beats, growling synths and eerie bleeps provide rock solid, futuristic dance-floor material with an edge.

Reverse Engineer is lighter in mood- sharp bass hooks cut through beautiful pads, while clever drum programming and bleeps play out over the top of this thought-provoking gem.

Visual sees Suddi returning to a darker sound, using classic samples, synth stabs, menacing strings and drum beats to great effect, delivering another moody slice of electro funk.

For our 7th original release we welcome our good friend David Agrella, alongside Kompo on remix duties.

David’s a producer with a fast growing reputation and a label of his own, Agrellomatica. The label’s gathered support from a number of respected DJ’s such as Jane Fitz, Laurent Garnier, Ivan Smagghe, Francesco Farfa, Enzo Siragusa, Moxie, Ciel, Massimiliano Pagliara and we’re pleased to welcome him on Seven Hills.

The Kom Dansen EP is one of David’s darker EP’s, blending together thick growling basslines and atmospheric, psychedelic textures. 4 tracks made purely for the dancefloor, all driven by a phat 909 kick, this is music for late night sessions.

Deseo drives through twists and turns with a grooving bass, precise funky drum patterns, and a vocal recorded by the man himself. Kom Dansen hits you with a huge belly bassline, while taking you on a trip on the night train, deep into the wormhole, with an ever building momentum.

Sabotage Signals is similarly growling and deep, with spooked out synth sounds, and unsettling pad action, while Kompo’s version strips everything back, and switches up the bassline into a real wrist snapper.

Next up on Ostrich we have London based producer Modes with his debut release; Follow Me. Forging his own path rather than follow genres or trends, his productions take influence from Bass Music, 2-Step, DnB & Breakbeat - and it was the authenticity in his sound that first caught my attention.

The title track Follow Me is a club track full of choppy beats and bass, offset by delicate chord stabs and trippy vocal samples. Spectrum Mind takes things a little deeper. Mellow pads and synth tones dance around over broken beats creating an infectious groove. It’s a pleasure to host Mode’s music on Ostrich and we welcome you to dive in and take a listen.
