This is a traditional/contemporary song I composed for our warriors to keep focus on our intent of being PROTECTORS and not psychopathic killers. This is a co-ed song so the value of warriorship is transcended in how we contribute to society as a protector of children, elders, the handicapped, the less fortunate, the animals and the environment. This is a work in progress, but I hope it will help out in these tense times. Eyes on the prize...always on the long term. Let's sing this together someday! O SIEM.

Sto:lo Protectors/Defenders - REMIX

This is a reading of some writing my by Great-Grandfather, Vincent Raymond Harris who was a founding member and Grand Chief of the Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs.

As I move forward into my own understanding of my manhood and personal reflections on governance and leadership, I look back to the words of my own role models who stood up and fought for rights & title while creating a vision for the future sustainability of our next generations.

I am thankful to have these words to learn from and want to honour them in the best way I can...by sharing them with the world.

The River Cries Out

This is a reading of a document from 1910. From the Shuswap Nation website: 
"In the summer of 1910, Prime Minister Sir Wilfrid Laurier set out across the country on a “non- political” pre-election campaign tour. On August 25th he stopped in Kamloops where he was met
by a delegation of Chiefs from the Secwépemc, Nlaka’pamux, and Syilx Nations, who greeted
their guest with an unequivocal message. They enlisted the help of their “secretary,” a Scottish-born ethnologist and long-time ally, James Teit, who had put their words onto paper, and French priest Father LeJeune, who translated the verbal presentation
and presented the written English document (“the Memorial”). The Interior Chiefs asserted the persistence of their Aboriginal Nations’ title and sovereignty over their respective territories, vowing that they would continue to struggle for a just and reciprocal relationship with the government until it was achieved."

I have done theatrical performances with Savage Society of a variation of this piece...and the more I do the performance...the more I think this document is important. So I've read it aloud for myself to have a better understanding...and anyone that would benefit from hearing it.
