Otake Records is back. This time with Canadian artist @Frivolous ‚Release Paralysis‘ marks a long period of time since the last full ‚Frivolous‘ release - a creative drought, a veritable release paralysis.

Marred by illness, pandemic and disaster, this record is unapologetic in Daniel Gardner‘s portrayal of life looking upwards through the murky waters of rock-bottom.

Thick, dark and jagged striations of dreams stomped down into piles of discarded artifacts, sometimes accented by the fleeting chorus of human yearning, sometime forgot about altogether in moments of ignorant bliss.

In ‚Release Paralysis‘, the specific circumstances are not to be revealed, inasmuch the importance of recognizing that events occured and shaped an emotional state which is valid and inarguably human.

Creativity isn‘t always beautiful, although honesty usually is.

Perhaps now the paralysis can be released.

After a longer  break Piotr Bejnar makes a comeback with a new release. The EP "Effects of Nature" features two downtempo tracks illustrating two natural phenomena - the Ebner Effect and the Vortex Effect. The first involves a vortex that causes leaves to fall from trees or arranges water similarly when draining a bathtub. The second is an effect pioneered by a Swiss scientist, allowing the restoration of the original genetic pattern. The tracks' sounds evoke a connection to nature, serving as the primary inspiration. After a year of silence and their last release on Connaisseur Recordings, Piotr Bejnar and Oskar Szafraniec are back together with a melodic EP this time released by Otake Records, Piotr’s own label. “Ballada o Januszku” came up within a few days of sitting and experimenting in the studio. The EP features two long storytelling tracks. "Ballada o Januszku“ has a more melodic smooth house approach with plenty of unexpected directions, while "Jugo“ goes deeper and adds a slighty more techno twist to the production.

Charlie is an effect of Kalipos own music journey. The whole EP can be interpreted as a story of a history written on the way. The music reflects various emotions attached to different parts of the specific journey of the author as in the same time he struggles to get into the listeners mind and trying to foretell their emotions. 

The release tells about the journey and emotional adventures on the way of flying octopus Charlie. There is a composition of feelings and odd things happening with him. The dreamy opener And the Stone of Heart sets the adventure mode from the very beginning, inviting the listeners to follow the octopus and experience different narcotic feelings inspired by music such as Watching Elephants on Bikes and Riding the White Camel.

12 months after the debut album of Piotr Bejnar was released, we achieved gathering 4 remixes from this album. Piotr turned to the artists he most admired and who stated for him as great authorities. The record starts with a beautiful remix of the song "Bagieta" made by Ada from Pampa records. Second track is a dance version of the "Jellyfish" made by Piotr Bejnar himself. The third artist on the record is Piotr's idol from many years - Frivolous. To this one Piotr stood up to since childhood as a long- term fan of Frivolous, buying his albums and tracking his path. And now as for the crowning of the record - stands an artist closely related to Otake records – Kalipo with a total dance floor banger remix of “Jellyfish”

From tomorrow you will find records in most Polish vinyl stores. From next week we launch foreign distribution. Vinyls will be available on decks, juno, etc.
