Inspired by a huichol ceremoy chant,   Dakarai's "Tezcatl"  blows us into a ceremony dedicated to fire and the spirit of hikuri.
The Huichol, also called Wixáricas, are an indigenous people living in the Sierra Madre Occidental in west-central Mexico.

A hikuri is, within the Wixarica (Huichol) religion , the conversion of the spirit of Tamautz Kauyumari (Our Big Brother Deer of the Sun) into the Lophophora williamsii cactus , thus becoming Tatei Hikuri or Our Mother Hikuri.

It is one of the most important religious concepts within their beliefs, and one of the best known iconographic conventions about this town. Given its hallucinogenic properties, hikuri is used by indigenous people as a ritual resource, for communication between the earthly world and the divine.
