Joseph Ira Dassin, also known as Joe Dassin (November 5, 1938 – August 20, 1980) was a French-American singer, composer and writer.

In his sixteen-year career (1964-1980), he enjoyed many successes in France and the Francophonie, but also, singing in languages other than French. He has also worked in Russia, Finland, Greece and Germany. In total, Joe Dassin has sold more than 50 million records worldwide, including nearly 17 million in France (10 million 45T and 7 million albums) .
Joe Dassin was the son of Jules Dassin (1911-2008), film director, and Béatrice Launer (1913-1994), virtuoso violinist, both of American nationality. He has two sisters, Richelle. (nicknamed “Ricky”), born in 1940, and Julie (nicknamed “La Petite”) born in 1945. His grandfather, Samuel Dassin, was a Russian Jewish immigrant from Odessa, then a city in the Russian Empire. When he arrived in America, he did not speak English, simply said that he had come from Odessa to the immigration authorities. The latter registered him as “Dassin”

7. Yasin Hazim - How Steady She Was

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well! I am very excited about my upcoming release, my first EP "Closer Minds." This project has been a great adventure, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to share it with all of you.
In this EP, I have explored a wide range of musical influences, from Downtempo with touches of Afro-Latin rhythms, to Techno and Trance. My goal has been to create a sound that is dynamic, exciting, and full of energy. Each of the three songs in this EP represents a different facet of my musical style, and I am excited to share that with all of you.
The first song, "Closer Minds," is an organic slow Techno track that describes how billions of neurons in our brain work together to generate a conscious experience.
The second song, "Artificial Dreams," is an organic slow Trance track with influences of psychedelic rock that talks about how our dreams have a hidden meaning that can serve us in the process of self-knowledge.
The third song, "Selfishness," is inspired by a speech by Alan Watts and talks about the importance of knowing oneself and contemplating death for a more creative and fulfilling life.
In summary, Closer Minds is an EP that represents my love for electronic music and my desire to create music that makes people feel excited and alive. I hope you enjoy listening to it.

One of the most exciting new artists on the storied Anjunadeep roster, Marsh (aka Tom Marshall) shares the third single from his forthcoming LP ‘Lailonie’ with infectious vocal house cut ‘My Stripes’. Having previously lent her vocals to Marsh fan favourites ’Soul’ and ‘Estes’, ‘My Stripes’ features the soulful vocals of Canadian songstress Leo Wood; the first of two official collaborations together.

The LP is a testament to the healing and spiritual power of music in the face of tragedy, coming together in the wake of the unexpected passing of a beloved family member. 

Written over the past three years, the album is inspired by this and other impactful life experiences, along with some of the beautiful places Tom has visited whilst producing the album.

“Lailonie’, pronounced ‘Lay-lah-knee’, has been a safe place for me to express a multitude of feelings, moments and memories I’ve experienced over the last three years. The album is a series of snapshots taken at different points as I’ve processed moving to a new country, getting married, traveling to different places. I’ve also experienced the pain of loss. We unexpectedly and suddenly had to say goodbye to Maddy’s Mom Carme at the end of 2018. I’ve had to rapidly learn how to love and stand by Maddy as we process this pain. We live in a world with so much going on. I think it’s important to have a safe place where you can go to catch your breath, process life and grow. Lailonie has been that place for me. I hope it can be that place for you.” 

‘Lailonie’ features collaborations from a wide array of talented artists including organic house music producer Wassu, soulful, jazzy vocalist Leo Wood, UK producer Phenoir, Cincinnati-based vocalist Mariel Beausejour, Austin-based songstress Mimi Page, and progressive house producer Forerunners. 

Marsh’s music has been supported by the likes of Joris Voorn, Kölsch and Rufus Du Sol, along with Pete Tong, Danny Howard and Phil Taggart at BBC Radio 1. His new album follows the release of his acclaimed collaboration with Nox Vahn, ‘Come Together’, featuring a moving spoken word sample from revered philosopher Alan Watts. On the live side, Marsh has performed at esteemed venues on both sides of the Atlantic, including Printworks London and The Brooklyn Mirage.  

With ‘Lailonie’ Marsh continues to tell his story of healing and inner peace through his enchantingly deep and progressive sound, and looks set to follow in the footsteps of fellow Anjunadeep alumni such as Lane 8, Yotto and Ben Böhmer on his rise to the top of the dance music world. 

‘Lailonie’ is available November 20 from Anjunadeep.

The Vedas (/ˈveɪdəz, ˈviː-/; Sanskrit: वेदः vedaḥ, "knowledge") are a large body of religious texts originating in ancient India. Composed in Vedic Sanskrit, the texts constitute the oldest layer of Sanskrit literature and the oldest scriptures of Hinduism.
There are four Vedas: the Rigveda, the Yajurveda, the Samaveda and the Atharvaveda. Each Veda has four subdivisions – the Samhitas (mantras and benedictions), the Aranyakas (text on rituals, ceremonies, sacrifices and symbolic-sacrifices), the Brahmanas (commentaries on rituals, ceremonies and sacrifices), and the Upanishads (texts discussing meditation, philosophy and spiritual knowledge). Some scholars add a fifth category – the Upasanas (worship). The texts of the Upanishads discuss ideas akin to the heterodox sramana-traditions.
Vedas are śruti ("what is heard"), distinguishing them from other religious texts, which are called smṛti ("what is remembered"). Hindus consider the Vedas to be apauruṣeya, which means "not of a man, superhuman"[15] and "impersonal, authorless," revelations of sacred sounds and texts heard by ancient sages after intense meditation

The title of this LP "Inicia Vojaĝo" means "Initiatory Journey" in the Esperanto language (universal language spoken in 120 countries).

Kaöb takes us beyond our known borders, through a journey to Sacred Lands through Mexico, Japan, Bolivia and Brazil, in a context of personal, spiritual and conscious journey.

It is a true mystical experience to open up to new horizons, space of possibilities of our Way of life.
