Ahh... summer. Isn't it grand? It's when Berlin is at its very best. After months of hibernation, everyone comes out of their rabbit holes in the best of moods and ready to mingle. And our little piece of paradise called 'Hallo Montag' is just the place to go in this frame of mind. Don your sunglasses, maybe grab a nice cold Spaeti-beer for the way and head over to our weekly daytime party, held every Monday at IPSE, that beautifully secluded spot right by the Spree canal. This season is going to be our third and once again, we are releasing a collection of sunny House tracks that capture the Berlin summer vibe, one at a time, every Monday, to accompany each party.

'Small Talk' by Matteo Luis is a real groove monster. Setting its sights squarely on the dance floor, it lays a powerful sub-heavy foundation for an atmospheric, high-energy chord loop that is some real goose-bump material. The catchy, modulating melody coming in completes a tune that is expertly arranged, making this one a sure-fire choice to get the crowd moving.

The allrounder throws party nights with his Sauce Gang, runs a t-shirt label called Vertigo Squad and plays amazing sets as a DJ. How to get down without leaving your house? OTEO’s answer to that question: their next single “Get Down”. There’s this stiff dude inviting people over to his parents‘ house. All you need is booze, red cups and most of all, a fresh out t and no parents around, he thought. Then everything goes sideways. Producer Matteo makes sure that the vibe ain’t a long time coming. French-House and Disco sounds take you right into the scene. Meanwhile singer Toni tells the story in his usual laid back manner.

Manners are something the party guests are clearly lacking. While our party host is desperately trying to deescalate, people smoke in the house, pee in the garden and even attempt to jump from the roof into the pool. There seems to be only one way out of this mess - a 911 call. The cops crash the party and peace returns to the host‘s parents‘ house.

“Get Down” is the 2nd single of OTEO’s new EP “Friendzone”, coming in October 2019. Our favorite Post Midnight Boy Band again pushes us to celebrate, with a wink, reminding us of the possible risks of being the party host. Let’s hit the clubs then!

OTEO sound like a damn good time. Inspired by a love of club culture, their latest EP "Friendzone" is danceable and packed with stories and observations from the nightlife. Call them the Post Midnight Boy Band.

Disco and Funk merge with House and Garage influences: Matteo's sophisticated production meets Toni's laid back vocals. The result: extremely catchy dance tracks. OTEO are bored by long intros, so they wrap things up in a cool 3 minutes - quite enough to dance extensively and work up a decent sweat. This is ensured by a club-friendly bpm count and minimalistic arrangements.

"Friendzone" is the result of recent times performing as a live act. While their first EP "Walking Blind" felt as intimate as a bedroom production, OTEO developed a new dynamic in the first year on the road. The danceable tracks were the ones that received the most energetic reaction from the audience. Therefore, for their second EP “Friendzone”, the duo have collected six new songs which they originally wrote for live shows.

The stories on "Friendzone" take place at night. “Get Down” is a tongue-in-cheek account of an escalating house party and its overburdened host, who finally calls the cops to get rid of his guests. "Weird Compliments" is about a unique opportunity to score with the coolest woman in the club and the attempt not to act like an idiot. The title song "Friendzone" is about the very unfortunate situation of having fallen in love with your best friend. Instead of revealing your romantic feelings, you have to watch the object of your affection flirt with other guys. All of this sounds quite a bit more contemplative than the energetic beats would suggest. But fuck it! - let's dance.

Radio Heart Broken - Episode 24 - Malugi

At a distance you could tell how busy the tiny bar was: motorcycle fanatics spilled out onto the pavement and an excited and persistent murmur filled the air, growing louder as you approached the small crowd. The packed dive bar was a spectacle, full of "hardly distancing" patrons and staff laboriously pouring cocktails into plastic half pint glasses. After so long with minimal human contact, it was a captivating sight to see.

The next instalment from Marlon Hoffstadt's Savour The Moment comes in the form of Cologne-based producer Malugi's debut EP, The Homies. Matteo Luigi, as Malugi, shares 'Guetta', part of a collection of dancefloor-focused tracks inspired by reminiscing about times with spent his mates (pre-lockdown one would assume). Although it's uncertain if there's a correlation between David "shout out to his family" Guetta and the track, the latter delivers with urgency; an energising electro cut propped up by an unrelenting, electrifying beat.
