In this new Freaky Cast, @mtaiel steps into the spotlight, delivering a rare and eclectic set that reflects nearly a decade of collecting and exploring global sounds. Martin’s passion for digging has taken him from the record shops of Brussels like @doctor-vinyl-records to the depths of the Flanders countryside at PopCorn Music (in Roeselare), chasing rare gems and unexpected sounds. 

Raised in the spirit of collectives, Taiel has always stayed close to the pulse of the scene even while choosing to remain independent.

From psy-rock, folk to instrumental with touches of ambient, his mix explores continents and styles, creating a hypnotic and cosy space around us. Thanks you for that Martin.

We could have met @aimzzzzzz in Berlin where she’s been living for 10 years-ish. We could have met her in the north of England where she was born and breaded as well. But no, we met her online, and although our parents warned us against it, we developed a virtual crush on her 💻💘. 

Here, she offers a trippy hour of slow beats. Perfect for a psychedelic meditation 🧘🏻🫧

Chez has a style that is hard to put your finger on, as Rio 017 well demonstrates. Recorded on the opening night of Bonanza, Chez kicked the terrace into action with a chuggy but cheerful selection of swampy groovers. 

Moving seamlessly from heads down tech house to breaks and EBM-ish numbers, Rio 017 is peppered with flecks of acid, swaying basslines and plenty of character. 

One to keep the summer flowing xx

While we were spending a lovely time in Copenhagen, we happened to come across Jesper Mygind behind the booth at our favorite spot in town. We caught the scent of a great selection of club music rooted in house and techno, with detours into related genres.

We really liked him, and it was a pleasant surprise for us. That’s why, even after years, we still remember his sets and the energy they transmitted to us.

Apart from being a great DJ and selector, we felt his personality truly matched the Save Our Sound ideology: someone who simply loves music and enjoys it to the fullest.

We are very happy to share one hour of his music in our podcast series.

We're welcoming one of our all time favourites and long standing resident of Slipped Discs, Frav. 

The mans a weapon, and this mix proves it yet again. There's not much to say that hasn't been said about Frav, so sit back and enjoy the ride.

Discobar re-launches in search of other galaxies with its second outing from Toulouse-based duo Zendid. They take us on three voyages through the electro-infused house grooves they made their name with, while still finding time to bring in Mayaan Nidaam for a remix. 'Space' has us seeing stars right from the start, with an alien menagerie conversing over a strict-form beat. The bassline on 'Virgin Virgin' is big enough to give you butterflies, tempered by stellar synths and wordless vocal clips. 'Berlin 6' takes the bass for a lighter walk and finally, Mayaan Nidam remixes 'Space' into a nebulous and reflective place, pads breaking through the thick atmosphere mid-track for a moment of zero gravity meditation.
