Assemble Music brings together four more producers at the forefront of today’s fine minimal/house/electro scene. Eklo boss Seuil kicks things off with JAM, a slowly-unfolding confection of metallic percussion and rolling bass set against a meditative, minor backdrop. His fellow Half Baked resident Robin Ordell brings a tipsy-sounding vibe to MOBSIW, each element swaying its way around the others in an off-key dance. Les Points’ Barbir adds Detroit hats to a no-shits-given breakbeat and suspends it in time, before finally a 4/4 kick comes to put feet back on the ground. Finally, Traffic founders Martyné and Jacob draw on more contemporary breaks and electro influences on ELECTRONETTO, with that laissez-faire swing with which their label has become synonymous.

Vinyl only. Carpet & Snares Records in Lisbon continues its analogue series Circuits with a welcome return for Rawax alumnus Brother G. Each of the four tracks here has its own afternoon mood – the lazy, hazy, almost kick-less pastoralism of 'Stress Relief' contrasts with the wakeful buzzing of 'Give It A Try', whose steps and spirals in turn give way to slick and focussed microhouse on '10ml Bottle Please'. Finally, 'Xanax' is nothing but a daydream, its detuned IDM pads and broken beats the perfect soundtrack for self-medication and a cup of tea.

B2. Brother G - Xanax

Sports Records recruits an all-star team for their first VA. The compilation kicks off with Goiz’s ‘Crab's Dub’, a bouncy downtempo number from the young Miami juggernaut that’s been taking the dance music world by storm. A2 sees a wonky percussive tune from the wild minds of Italian duo Shampoo Douglas. The B side welcomes Aussie Red Embers legend Ewan Jansen with his timeless deep house hole in one titled ‘Scit Scat Return’. Pager boss Markus Sommer rounds off this release with a swinging work out tune that’s sure to stimulate.
