Pixel John sits quietly, when suddenly the screen begins to flicker.
Lines shift, windows open and close on their own, icons vanish.
It is Update Night.

He watches as everything he knew changes.
Programs disappear, new ones appear, rules are rewritten.
Nothing holds.

On the other side of the screen, he sees the humans too.
A man updates his phone and complains:
“Why did they change everything again? I just learned the old version!”
Next to him, a woman scrolls through her feed and sighs:
“All looks the same… and yet nothing feels the same.”

Pixel John smiles softly.
He understands: change is not the exception — change is the rule.
Impermanence is the ground beneath everything.

He whispers:
“Nothing stays.
And that’s okay.”
