Stroboscopic Artefacts' first vinyl release is an incendiary two track EP. Label founder Lucy gives us a visionary blueprint for the future Stroboscopic Artefacts releases, etching out the soundtrack for an apocalyptic club scenario.Out of the A-side's dark, pulsing beats and itchy baselines, a granular voice rises up.
Krishnamurti's rasping vocal cuts through, creating a colossal techno track. The result is a hybrid of the physical need to dance fusing with the cerebral. Amid resonant piano samples and utopian 60s strings, a crystalline question emerges: "Why Don't You Change"? In the middle of a hazy, overcrowded dance floor this peak-time guerrilla track hints at a moment of epiphany. On the B-side "Dub Man Walking", Lucy's dub-roots background collides with his techno identity. The heavy drum machine structure is injected with obsessive dubby baselines and intersected by high frequency distortion. The track floats, the elements never fully solidify, instead they surge forward becoming ever more urgent. Lucy mixed and arranged "Dub Man Walking" live using his faithful Mackie MS 1202 to keep the texture warm in an old skool way.

Bristol's Elastic Dreams presents it's third release, with label owner A Sagittariun taking a back seat on this one and introducing Sheffield based DJ/producer, Nyra, to the fold.  Hot off the heels of his EP for Never Learnt, Nyra keeps on track with three new cuts of basement techno and deep, murky dancefloor tracks.  The release is bolstered by a remix from Skudge on lead track 'Uno 10'.

The first release from Sweden's Random Island recordings offers three tracks of pure-bred techno from label owner Inter Gritty. Nihad Tule provides a stunning remix that turns the raw, Chicago-esque pounding of Kiska into a dramatic, flowing techno builder. And finally, Huemul drops the pace and sets off to explore the deeper side of techno, drenched in drones, chords and deep bass.

Back in 2009, Italian DJ and producer Luca Mortellaro - better known simply as Lucy - established the Stroboscopic Artefacts label. And over the last 14 years, the imprint has nurtured a reputation for its line-blurring electronic abstraction and dancefloor experimentation, releasing influential material by artists like Speedy J, Kangding Ray, Donato Dozzy, Paula Temple, Rrose, Ben Klock, Wanton Witch, and of course Lucy themselves.
