Collaborations is a new series curated by Artefakt on their own imprint De Stijl. Inviting friends and likeminded artists for extended studio improvisations crafting an EP based on live sessions.

First guest is Claudio PRC, a close friend and familiar face in the deep techno scene. Having released on labels such as Semantica, TGP, his own 012 and most recently Delsin Records, he has a close connection to Artefakt. Both artists reside in Berlin and share a dedicated passion for atmospheric and immersive ambient and techno.

Collaborations I features four jams combining the unmistakable strengths of both artists, resulting in a well varied pack of emotive techno with room for experiment. Where 'Gaia' and 'Dwelling' feel like iconic tracks of the pair teaming up, on the flip side 'Sonic Rite' slows down in pace and catches a magnificent groove. The shared love for ambient results in the mesmerizing closer of the EP 'Distant Light'.

Systema Naturae is the first compilation of 012. It is inspired and takes the name from one of the major works of the Swedish botanist, zoologist and physician Carl Linnaeus dating back to 1735 which broadly describes the hierarchical classification of the natural world. The series consists of three parts, each containing 4 tracks, where several artists are invited to recreate with sounds a deep reconnection with nature. Original artworks by Ciredz.

All tracks are written and produced by the respective artists. Mastered at Artefacts Mastering Studio. Distributed by Space Cadets. Vinyl and digital.

After our big 5-year celebration compilation. Alderaan presents Transition EP, his second release on the label.

The album begins with “Transition”, a powerful track where synths with multiple LFO processes achieve a hypnotic effect. Showing a constant evolution in sound design. The order of the track-list continues with a masterful remix of “Transition” by the Spanish producer Psyk, an emblem of the current techno sound who also kept the focus on the synthetic part of the original track giving it his characteristic deep style. On the B-Side, "Vortex" has the feeling of being a slower minimalist track with electric synths and subtle
changes in percussion and soundscapes. "Futurismo" closes the album showcasing a deep concept in terms of synthesis with an intriguing energy coming from long and reverberated atmospheres and sharp textures.

Sungate joins friends and family with a V.A in support of the victims of the storms in Valencia.
 
On October 28th, flash floods decimated the better part of the southern and western areas of Valencia, alongside many other points of Spain. What followed was a catastrophic event resulting in storm surges, collapsing bridges, thousands stuck on roads and streets, ultimately leading to a death toll that is now estimated over 200, and unfortunately, rising.
 
Homes, animal shelters, businesses and families have been destroyed by this catastrophe. An event that caught thousands out in the street, heading to and from school, work, and daily lives unalerted. Severe warnings only got to our phones 10 hours after, despite being warned by weather centers and flood prevention institutions for days.
 
With Sungate’s staff both residing and having ties to the city, we’ve decided to release “Healing Rays”, a compilation of 22 tracks by artists close to the label to gather funds to re-distribute to those most in need, buy essential products and help in the re-construction of a damaged region. We are joining a series of charitable releases from others in the city that has seen a wave of supporting press, and more importantly, an overwhelming amount of support. 
 
We are infinitely thankful to Marco Spaventi for mastering this release and all the artists that have given their music away for the cause.

‘Preternity’ is a vinyl that collects together four of the most dynamic artists in electronic music delving into tracks from Dadub’s forthcoming album ‘You Are Eternity’. Dadub’s album positions itself as part of an eternity which is forever recurring and in this context Lucy, Lakker, Rrose and Kangding Ray’s remixes emerge as parallel versions of the original tracks. Revolving around the axis of ‘You Are Eternity’ the artists use analogue machines and digital devices to either encode or decode Dadub’s vision.

Lucy tackles A1 reconfiguring ‘Death’. He turns Dadub’s musings on mortality into a malevolent dub tale. Lakker take on the swaggering ‘Path’ and break it down, they add a knotty industrial edge and metallic splinters. The error codes that ring in the background give that feeling that this ‘Path’ leads to the site of a disaster. In Lakker’s hands this track has undergone a malicious mutation. The flip side of the record is opened by Rrose, who ratchets up the BPM and creates a decidedly dystopian new configuration of ‘Life’. Gone is the sample from the original and instead the track exists in a whirling, cyclical realm. The final rethinking comes from Kangding Ray who dissolves ‘Existence’ further into a dripping, aqueous state. Muffled, shrouded sounds come into the fore swarming ever closer to your inner ear drum and the track is warmed by seriously deep frequencies.

SA016 is preoccupied with sounds that point to our most basic assumptions. It’s a collection of tracks that are determined to ask questions even if they can’t really be answered. All four artists selected the Dadub track that they wanted to remake, and what has been pressed to vinyl are part instinctive reconfigurations and part reflected rethinkings of that source material. This vinyl is a unique look at the processes of four of electronic music’s most keen experimenters and a moreish taste of what’s to come from Dadub’s
debut album, ‘You Are Eternity’.

04. Kontinum - Northwest Passage

Back in 2009, Italian DJ and producer Luca Mortellaro - better known simply as Lucy - established the Stroboscopic Artefacts label. And over the last 14 years, the imprint has nurtured a reputation for its line-blurring electronic abstraction and dancefloor experimentation, releasing influential material by artists like Speedy J, Kangding Ray, Donato Dozzy, Paula Temple, Rrose, Ben Klock, Wanton Witch, and of course Lucy themselves. Naturally following the label's ten year threshold, the pandemic pause and Mortellaro's subsequent artistic re-evaluation, OTHER FACTS emerges as a fresh entity, fully unplugged from Stroboscopic Artefacts' dancefloor mainframe, with its gaze pointed on widescreen cinematic sound design and audio-visual art.
