"The album was recorded in 3 consecutive days in which we just jammed - hence the name of the album - JAM - and was the initiative of Harake - a project of Kol HaCampus 106fm radio.

The general idea was to get into the studio, without any songs in advance, and jam using our equipment and some extra instruments to create a live album.

The result is a collection of intuitive tracks all made on the spot, very different from the trio's usual work process - in layers and over time.

Thanks to this process, the tracks got a dynamic living character that compliments the electronic format, giving the album its unique colour.

The sessions got an unexpected twist due to the November 2012 bombings in Israel/Palestine. Alarms that set off at peak moments got us all into a very specific zone which gave birth to some of the songs - Master Of Rockets, I Cried, What Is Madness are among its' children.

Feel's So Good

Santino Surfers walks the sunny latitudes of guitar music legacy to concoct an amorphous blend of chilled-out, soulful, and melodically lavish material. Imagine twangy 60’s black and white guitars splashed with neon color and dusty country rock curls in distorted gleam.

The ‘surf’ sound is prevalent throughout the work (hence the name), setting the dial at laid back, grooving and liberated moods that probe the frontiers of the psychedelic. The music is mostly instrumental with occasional visits by vocals and vocoders.

‘Sun Rise Swell’ is the debut single. It sits comfortably bopping on a downbeat break, steady bass waving while guitars paint sweet and dreamy figures in the afternoon sky.

A few more singles will follow, leading up to a full-length album release on Music For Dreams.

Guts, a producer exiled in Ibiza, and Mambo, a Los-Angeles-based painter, have been lounging on the shore with the sound of the waves lapping in the background as they sift through the vinyl for their Beach Diggin’ collection. Far, far from the mouldy-smelling, lightless cellars where record hunters usually hang out. Diggin’ disks as others dig beaches, because getting your hands on a good vinyl, its grooves virtually unexplored, is like stumbling on a dazzling expanse of virgin sand.
Guts and Mambo have little time for the idea that Brazilians have to play bossa nova, Cubans must salsa and a Jamaican has to be into reggae. They sniff around the blind spots away from the beaches packed with noisy tourists and come up with Italians who beat out Afro rhythms, West Indians who lay down earth-shaking dub beats, and Trinidadians who unleash funk laced with lots of brass. Not to mention Peruvians, Frenchies and even Spaniards who can recreate the atmosphere of a humid, totally torrid sixties Rio party.
On the seafront, Guts and Mambo have put together a 16-track playlist that is hip without being elitist, guided by the highest standards and unwavering principles of sun, escapism, the good life and nothing below 25°C.
Seventeen tracks are stamped on the pages of the record’s passport - boss nova, soul, jazz, latin, afro-funk and tropical -, souvenirs of travels through North and Latin America, Africa, Europe and the Caribbean islands.
Intoxicating tunes, radiant rhythms, velveteen vocals: Beach Diggin’ is for sipping through a straw, wiggling your hips and shaking your pelvis to, and it’s made to bring bodies into friction.

Other People is a record label started in New York City in 2013 by Nicolás Jaar. In its 10 years of existence, it has featured the sonic work of over 70 music releases, highlights include Terepa (2015), a "telepathic" collaboration helmed by Kohei Matsunaga (aka NHK’Koyxen) featuring Rashad Becker, Charlotte Collin, Lucrecia Dalt, Laurel Halo, Julia Holter, Grégoire Simon and Kohei himself, Caves (2021), a compilation of silences featuring Laraaji, Aho Ssan, Ana Quiroga and more, Weavings (2022), a collaborative live piece with Juliana Huxtable, Ellen Fullman, Wukir Suryadi and Rully Shabara of Senyawa, Angel Bat Dawid and others. The label has also put out the 1990 spoken word piece "Conspiracy of Women" (2015) by Lydia Lunch, as well as Tomaga & Pierre Bastien's collaborative album entitled Bandiera di Carta (2019) and Lucrecia Dalt's Esotro / Veta release (2014) with remixes by William Basinski and John Wall. It has also featured the likes of Magdalena Dàugosz, Barbara Zawadzka, Bernadetta Matuszczak, Krzysztof Knittel, Bogusław Shaeffer, Saint Abdullah, Eomac, Dienne, Charbel Haber, Okokon, Against All Logic, FKA Twigs, Darkside, Nicolás Jaar and others.  It has featured the visual work of Maziyar Pahlevan, Africanus Okokon, Zofia Kulik, Jena Myung, Charbel Haber, Abeera Kamran and Somnath Bhatt among others. The label’s current contract states that an artist on the label owns all their rights and decides the full percentage of the revenue they wish to make from their releases on the label, after recoupment. Any of the label’s profit gets given out to artists in forms of grants, workshop and educational initiatives. The label has collaborated in this form with more than three dozen exceptional organizations and individuals in the past three years. Although the label works not-for-profit, it is not a registered non-profit.
