The name of this track is derived from a method of treating neurotic habits and insomnia, known as paradoxical intention. Essentially, it would mean having no intention of sleeping at all in order to sleep naturally so due to the bodies needs or to identify a thought pattern as irrational until the thought pattern ceases.

THIS SONG WAS PLAYED TWO WEEKS IN A ROW ON BBC INTRODUCING WEST YORKSHIRE!
We are very proud of this.

It's a made up word. How terribly enigmatic, right? 
Invented at a particularly dull moment in a house party where people were trying to outdo one another with clever words 'most people would never have heard of', Peasey said it was a word to describe when a seemingly foolish series of decisions made simultaneously by two people prior to meeting actually lead them to one another.

It doesn't mean that. It doesn't actually exist. That was the point, they were boring. 

Idiosynchronicity

The name comes from the original saved file name of the lyric, which was written in a room at the Weinmeister Hotel shortly before passing out from an overload of free beer.

The music was written just before midnight of New Years Eve 2011, so it's been around a little while.

A fact; Peasey met Paul Smith from Maximo Park that same evening, he was a very nice bloke. As was Adam Pickering from (then) Minnaars, (now) Haus. A lovely, life-reaffirming evening.

In Berlin

A fact;

This is part one of a two part song. The second part may or may not see light of day as part of our debut album alongside this one or as a b-side in the future. "It could have been", sung in the chorus, was originally over lines from the second part that were lost during mixing as we all felt it worked better without. These lines kind of add to the general theme lyrically, so it might make a bit more sense or a bit less when you hear Part 2...

Building a home for themselves within waves of beauty and bombast in exacting measures,
OtherPeoplesLives are a unique collective of musicians and producers based in Leeds, UK.

Calm, considered and intricately constructed layers of ambience meet raw eruptions of power, always with a firm grasp of crafting reverberant melodies that haunt the mind.

This highly dynamic quartet have grown from their roots in Post-Rock and now sprawl out over a wide range of influence, not one piece of their sonic puzzle is superfluous.

They are a deeply formidable proposition in a live setting where they are capable of creating an atmosphere that draws attention of rooms of all sizes.

Previous festival appearances include Standon Calling, Dot To Dot, Live At Leeds and Beacons Festival, they have also played alongside bands such as Post War Glamour Girls, Coasts, Big Deal and Mutiny On The Bounty.

Everything the band has released so far has received multiple airplay on BBC Introducing, XFM and others.  The majority of their work being self-produced, leaving Otherpeopleslives a self-contained unit of enviable ability.

Focussed, sweeping and atmospheric music with lyrical content that grapples the constraints of modern society, while dancing knowingly within it.
