HOMEGOING is an original score with six songs, two of which were created with the amazingly talented JJJJJerome Ellis! songs written to musicians, choir directors and singers from the Black Church that succumbed to the AIDS crisis—the music takes keywords and sonic patterns from deceased musicians as the foundation for the new songs. an actual labor of love, this is grief work, an attempt to honor the departed that were not celebrated in their fullness even when their music was, and still is, used today as the soundtrack for praise in so many churches. this is an attempt to practice love and care for those that have gifted us so much.

HOMEGOING is an attempt to honor black queer musicians, singers and choir directors from the Black Church tradition. A mix of gospel, house, jazz, r&b, funk, disco and other genres, DJ Lil' Dave took the songs from HOMEGOING, remixed them and added them to a dance mix.
