Drawing inspiration from disco and funk greats such as Nile Rodgers and Jamiroquai, alongside contemporary innovators like Parcels and Franc Moody, The Wild Violets strike the perfect balance between vintage analog charm and modern production brilliance. Some grooves never let you go. For Phil Fuldner, the bassline from El Coco’s 1987 Afrodesia has been following him around for nearly three decades. You might have already heard the original, but this special 12" mix is something only the deepest diggers know - and thanks to his friend Dan Dinsing, Phil finally got his hands on it again.
A first sketch came together fast and got a bigger reaction than expected, but the road from idea to release took three years - mostly to make that all-important sample clearance a reality. Mousse T. was the very first to hear it (in a super-early state) and kept encouraging Phil to finish the job, throwing in the occasional gentle kick to keep it on track.
Now Afrodesia is here at last - a sun-soaked, disco-powered floorfiller that blends nostalgia with fresh energy. Long build-up, quick delivery… and absolutely worth the wait.

Otho and Grag is a german DJ and producer who started his career in 1988. Long before the all-digital era, he produced several records between 1992 and 2001 that were released on vinyl on respected house music labels such as "Force Inc. US", "This Is Housemusic" and "Definitive Recordings". During this period he remixed also artists such as Celvin Rotane, Madison Avenue, Groovezone and many others. In 2019 he launched his new project "Otho and Grag" with a style he calls "Electro Disco", influenced by many genres of electronic music that have shaped his musical journey over the years.

His label "Electro Disco Records" offers tracks in the areas of House, Deephouse, Indie-Dance and of course Disco and NuDisco.
