Sounds from Thursday afternoon


Now based in Hampton Roads and  having played professionally for over ten years, Otis has played with The BJ Griffin Band since 2016. He's worked as bandleader of Full Phase, The Ruby Quartet and other ensembles. Otis has also stayed active on the  theater scene, playing guitar in productions such as Virginia Stage Company's A Christmas Carol, The Parchment Hour, Always Patsy Cline, Norfolk State's Once on this Island, Motown, For Colored Girls and others. Otis has appeared and performed on local television and played various venues, universities, churches, recording studios and festivals.

A songwriter, guitarist and performer, Otis uses his unique voice and blend of artistry to create pieces all his own. He aims to set an infectious mood with every song. His approach as a guitarist is to simply feel every note, project that same feeling into the audience, in the hopes of creating something uniquely beautiful together.
