The title track off the upcoming EP, Helen Keller, was inspired by the notion of me being unheard or misunderstood. I suppose its a reference to my music falling on "deaf ears". Or even people being blind to what I'm doing. Summed up with a spoken word-esk third verse that basically tells listeners to be who you are unapologetically, but to never lose your soul while doing it.

This is my "Anyone can get it" song. This is the one song on the Helen Keller project that I was definitely trying to show off a little bit.

Please Don't Wake Me Up

Otis Clapp's "Helen Keller" is a collection of eclectic hip hop tracks that speak to the rapper's frustration of being misunderstood or even unheard. Otis explores this theme on the title track, along with "Rapstars" and "Waiting," but takes us on a deeper, thought provoking ride with "Prove Me Wrong," which touches on the racial and political climate of the day. Midway through the EP, Otis takes us on a musical odyssey with "Just Chill," where exuberant rhymes are showcased over unpredictable production. The EP is bookmarked by "Demons into Diamonds" and "Please Don't Wake Me Up," two sonically different songs that evoke hope and triumph.
