"Pure energy shines through our latest compilation, where all producers gathered together for a good cause. Lockdowns and social distancing practices are slowly easing up in the luckier half of the world, yet local producers and clubs are still facing a hard ongoing period of no live shows with a non-existing club culture. As a result, web-based platforms are more important than ever.

The Lahmacun community radio is an integral part of our Budapest scene, as they provide a remarkable online platform not only to musicians and DJs, but to local broadcasters, hosts and music enthusiasts alike. Keeping up the spirit, Lahmacun radio is eager to promote and celebrate music from the local Hungarian scene and from passionate labels, collectives and communities, be it anywhere in the world.

This 20-track fundraising compilation is therefore dedicated to Lahmacun radio. It is presented by 10 local and 10 international producers, hailing from the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Greece and Israel. TL PREMIERE : SILF - Aces II [Dalmata Daniel]

Berlin producer, Random Alias, returns with a post-lockdown reflection that includes dance-floor fillers and sonic journeys in electro, techno and acid.

BOM002 explores the dichotomy of human existence that is monotonous conformity and search for freedom. This latest release from Random Alias, makes you want to move just as much as take a moment for reflection. With each track we’re presented with the iconic red pill/blue pill concept: Remain slaves to the control and automation of modern society? Or strive for freedom as we define it ourselves?

Automat opens side A with its smouldering bassline that at times becomes warped as the 5 minutes unfold. A dreamy synth line enters like a fragmented, existential thought. The kind that wakes you up in the dead of night or while you’re in the middle of a shower. The remix from iconic electro producer, DJ Overdose, takes the original to a darker place with a slower, aggressive synth. It’s a ‘Freakfest’ as Overdose defines it.

Side B starts with Nu Funk and its representation of simple efficiency. The track keeps it tight while retaining the free-spiritedness of funk. Its warm sounds take a more old school approach and are a call to retain an easier life free from fame, money and power to the single individual. While Night Drive closes the release with a rolling bass and pads that drive a progressive sound. At its core, the record takes the listener on a trip exploring sounds and styles and the timeless notion that change is the outcome of reflection.

Coexistence

As announced by Fill-Lex Records, the Valencian label had planned to close at the end of the year, or the beginning of 2022, the series of Zar del Olimpo releases by Rise Black, a producer who divides his nationality between Russia and Greece, although he currently resides in Seville and is already one more in the Spanish electro scene, with several proposals such as Electronic Wave, which is regularly held in the Prisma room in Seville.

Maxim Gkikaev was planning to release a second volume of this cycle, thus bringing to an end this work composed of tracks created in the pre-pandemic era, between 2016 and 2019. This second part of Zar del Olimpo follows in the same wake as its predecessor album, a musical line oriented towards a primordial base derived from electro, however, various influences from other genres can be appreciated. 

On this occasion, the artist reduces the number of tracks, leaving the album with 7 tracks, as opposed to the 11 of the first volume. Zar del Olimpo Vol.2 starts with Artificial Dance, a track in which he shows great skill in combining structures and textures that we can perfectly place in styles such as electro, acid or industrial, as the physiognomy of its punch is forceful, its rhythm is syncopated and its scarce melody is hypnotic. END coincides very little with the previous cut, quite the contrary, since although it is rhythmically commanded by a break, the musicality is a very important element that is not always shown, since the arpeggio only appears on two occasions, as well as inverting the forcefulness of the punch with metallic percussive elements. Wolfs Forest closes side A with a great dose of originality, as Rise Black dedicates this track to this animal, with howls included and with an electronic sound background, electro in its purest state to vindicate the figure of the wolf.

Veneno (Version 2) opens side B with a lower level of dynamism than the previous tracks. On this occasion, it once again shows its electronic character and a slow cadence. Ugly But Cute is a cut with a bright sound and lacking in low frequencies, in which a neat rhythmic base is once again joined by two arpeggiated lines. Luz del Cielo is a track in which the impact of various styles can be appreciated and in which care is taken to ensure that its sonic nature is metallic and electronic. The album closes with Sad Goodbye, a new electro cut very appropriate to say goodbye to this series of releases.

🇹🇷 @Loradeniz is an electronic music composer and DJ born in Istanbul and currently based in Amsterdam. Drawing on her unique skill set of being a pianist, vocalist, and composer her nature is able to cover a range of styles and forms while embodying the heart of the true raver’s spirit.

Her approach to music is based around building and manipulating an immersive sound world that blurs the lines between light and dark, hope and despair, past and future. She aims to create a smooth transition through electro, breaks, d&b, leftfield, postpunk, and wave. Her sets are as much for the head as they are the body - A place where industrial rhythms and breakbeats sit alongside the dark ambiance with warming melodies and vocals.
