Stressful Environment contributes to that persona. It is a fierce composition of peak time tracks, that at times hint towards industrial, while preserving a certain melancholy. It is largely this combination that makes these tracks complement each other so well. The muscular foundation gives them their power; an enlightening fragility keeps them from becoming mere stompers. With that, Violent has put together an impressive piece of contemporary techno that will most likely see the inside of many clubs in the months to come. The ‘Stressful Environment EP’ is bound to make the name Violent stick around for a while.

Sawlin's debut EP on Delsin off shoot Ann Aimee went down so well it only made sense to have him craft another. 'Eviment' is that EP, made up of three more deep and subterranean techno cuts that play with plenty of textures.

Title track 'Eviment' is a tortured and paranoid offering that has a nagging vocal stretched out over splashy claps and a foreboding bottom end thud. It's vast and dark, spare and haunting where 'Kretze' is a bigger and bolder track. The analogue percussion and serrated lines all sound old and aged as they mark out a scraping, dystopian vision of a world well away from here.

'Sour Tear' has a more syncopated, techno-funk groove but is still padded out with plenty of dubby undercurrents. Sawlin's percussion sounds are wholly non standard, from clanking metal to twanging strings, everything sounds like a real world sound, which makes his music as arresting as anyone's, despite being made firmly for the techno backroom.

TWR72 opens the EP with 'Ultraviolet', an energetic, club-like cut based in a closed and looped rhythm, with a vibrant, minimalist and industrial vision. The sequencing of his bass - giving him futuristic feelings – and the subtle sound of bells adds attraction to a cut intended to blow up the toughest dance floors. What Alderaan proposes with 'Linö' is an insider techno journey, introspective by nature, textured and exciting. From a dystopian environment and in loop, all of it has one main idea: moving and touching the listener’s mind. Tuber through 'Second Choice' bets on a predominantly techno cut, as floor-friendly as abstract. Here is a sign of his love for the anabolic and the fierce and for that mentaloid touch that sometimes becomes schizoid. Albert Van Abbe closes the EP with 'Inguma One', a cut that is an extract from the 'Broken Cymbals' set he recorded for Semantica. It's a dub passage in which he uses granular synthesis to create deep and icy atmospheres, giving rise to complex and escapist textures.
