Defected Broadcasting House - Episode 13 - Dec 2023

This year marks 15 years since I started my service in the online underground. Time flies when you are having fun right?! I remember when I (as non dj) heard something on the radio back then, that was just it. Nobody put that on soundcloud or youtube for you to listen to again. I was telling myself there must be more people that want to listen to some tracks over and over again. That's how it all started. Ripping tracks from radio shows, uploading some cool tracks that were hot in that time period (remember post-dubstep & future garage?),there were even a few people sending me their music to upload! The moment I started doing the video edits was life changing. Not only for me but for all the people we (music youtubers) made hot in the era of lo-fi house. Happy to see some of them rockin big stages today!

Since then, this has been my everyday, 24/7/365! Paid my dues & made the sacrifices. Was it worth it? Damn right! Though I have to admit that I never intended to start djing myself. I was forced to by the community! I am happy I sold my bike so I can buy speakers and started.

Music took me around the world. With music I met a bunch of amazing people who did not hesitate to spend their money and time just to meet the guy they know from youtube. For this I will forever be grateful!

Like 5 years ago, also this time I have a mix for you! I just wanted to put together a mix full of my all time favorite jams. The result is an almost six hour journey through different genres & styles. I also wanted to include music made by people I have some history with. Baltra, Bambounou, Fjaak, Route 8 or Kettama, to name a few (and a whole lotta more!). Expect a lot of hits! Slow jams, House, Techno, UK sound and more.

Thanks for believing in me, it truly means everything!

Introducing Damián Hernán, also known as ON THE REG: a DJ, producer, and event organizer with over 15 years of experience in the music scene. His eclectic sessions span from Chicago House, Deep, Funk, Disco, Italian Dream House, and more. As the founder of OTR, an event production company in the Buenos Aires underground scene, he's responsible for the renowned OTR PODCAST on SoundCloud, featuring over 150 mixes from international DJs like MARK FARINA, PHIL WEEKS, and KAPOTE from Toy Tonics, among others. He has successfully curated event series like MAGIC JOURNEY at Niceto Club and The Shamrock. His productions have been released on labels such as Mole Records, Boite Records, Groovy Riddim, as well as on his own label, On The Reg, available on Bandcamp. With performances at festivals like Lollapalooza and in prestigious clubs like Crobar, Bahrein, Under Club, Avant Garten, El Muelle, JET BsAs, 2GTHR, Afrika, and more, Damián has taken his sessions to locations across Mexico, Canada, the UK, Russia, Brazil, and the United States.
