Lie To Me

Lights dim for the evening hours in the basement speak easy. A haze of smoke hangs in the air while an old man in a tattered suit mumbles into his whisky.  The buzz of conversations dies off with “it’s tragic” when a solo spot light shines and the drummer kicks into a slow canter.  The words are sung that the whisky forgets.

Coexist (And All Grow Old)

Trying and always failing to hold on to memories.  I find I too often wallow in melancholia.  This is to all that we have forgotten or will helplessly soon forget.  A simple tune with simple accompaniment.

I wake up almost every day with a melody in my head and struggle to find some form to let it take to life. The song is free association on that theme.... and maybe worked out ok. Also, my first attempt at a "Sea Shanty" style tune.
