It's that time again—early September marks the launch of our next compilation! We can hardly believe it ourselves, but it's already down.tape °9.

As always, we've worked hard to bring you a mix of emerging new artists alongside some seasoned veterans who have yet to be featured on our compilations. The soundscape spans from fresh, summery open-air vibes to driving beats perfect for the night, once again showcasing the incredible diversity of our favorite genre.

We want to thank all the artists for their unique contributions, as well as Kilian Van de Water for the artwork and Haunted Water for the mastering. Enjoy the music!

For Kiosk ID catalog no. 031, Argentinian upstart Manucho cooks up a slow-burning seance of enveloping melodics, stripped groove structures, and heaving fields of synth-crazed emotionality. Across eight tracks, the Barcelona-based DJ and producer plumbs the depths of his deeply melodic vision, delivering five distinct dancefloor energies alongside three inspired reimaginations by Jorke, thea & schtu, and Martin Cozar. 

Blazing patterns of morphing saw waves are at the energetic core of Manucho’s sublime brand of electronic dance music. ‘Uni’ opens the EP with intricate soundscapes and powerful anthemic qualities: a morphing hook builds and gradually disintegrates, reforming into erratically cycling waves of searing emotive stabs. 

Thea & schtu’s rendition artfully transforms ‘Uni’ into an acoustic down-tempo ballad of delicately morphing blips, celestial pads, and sweeping sawtooth chords.

A glitch is an ambivalent phenomenon. Normally it is perceived as a disturbance, as a flaw in the system. But every time something familiar appears differently than usual, a new space is created that opens up new possibilities of perception.

Sydka and Iorie have set exactly this process to music in their new single "One Little Glitch". They show how supposedly disruptive signals can become interesting musical elements. With the usual great rhythms and crisp basslines.

Kolja develops the idea of auditory errors even further and gives the song his very own experimental touch, which we love so much.
