The small town of Bremen in Northern Germany has a long musical tradition ever since the Brothers Grimm issued the tale of the Bremen Town Musicians. Now it is the Our Label brothers that bring you music from that very city, which was their own place to be for musical nightlife adventures: Uncle Hammond’s Soul Jazz Movement is a seven piece group honoring the groovy styles of Jimmy Smith and Reuben Wilson. This 45 features their interpretation of two of the bands favorite tunes.
"Greens" brings you a boogaloo-ish groove for the dancefloor and "Waltz" was an instant choice by Our Label's Gu for its deep and soulful harmonies.

After featuring unreleased Funk-tracks from England, Japan, Russia, Germany and Spain, Our Label Records is continuing their funky world travels with a new release from Canada. The Out Of Towners were originally formed in Leeds, UK, by guitarist and band leader Gareth Perry. In 2011 he moved to Toronto and recruited Yash Presswalla on upright bass, Sebastian Buccioni on Hammond organ and Matt Burns on drums. With their first ever 7-inch release „Malton Boys Club“ on OUR LABEL RECORDS, The Out Of Towners present their appreciation for bands like The Meters and Booker T. & The MG’s, as well as The New Mastersounds with a deep Funk groove, backed up by the uptempo „If He’s Number 6, I’m Number 7“.
With a weekly residency at the Sauce on The Danforth in Toronto, it is no surprise that this quartett plays supertight, and will get dancefloors packed across the globe.

Our Label is picking up the pace in 2012 and starts the new year with a quick follow-up to their last 7“ by Sir Ali  Bengali from Switzerland (released in November 2011), with the release of „Raw Meat / Song 2“ by Diazpora from Hamburg, Germany. In late 2011 Our Label’s Gu sat down with the band for a studio session and presented them with the main elements of what would become „Raw Meat“, a very deep and almost jazzy midtempo groove that will keep heads nodding and feet moving all over the globe. Stripped down to a three-piece band with bass, drums and guitar, Diazpora (usually an eight-piece) show how they can handle the Funk in it’s most basic form.

It is only the second time that Gu wrote and produced a release on Our Label, but again the outcome is a dancefloor sureshot that will be a DJ’s favourite once the needle hits the vinyl, as was with the quickly sold out „Give Me A Minute“ by The New Mastersounds (OUR45-001).

Blur’s probably most famous recording „Song 2“ was reinvented as an uptempo Deep Funk tune by Diazpora with tight horns and featuring the vocal talents of Hamburg’s Nora Kinga Becker, who gives the song the soulful edge it deserves. 

It is only the second time that Gu produced a release on Our Label, but again the outcome is a dancefloor sureshot that will be a DJ’s favourite once the needle hits the vinyl, as was with the quickly sold out „Give Me A Minute“ by The New Mastersounds (OUR45-001).

Gu and Eddie had given the song its main structure and the boys were playing it for the first time in one go. My old Nokia could only handle so much sound (remember, it was 2005...), but I still wanted to have this as a souvenir. 
And now I am sharing it with you. The very first recording of the very first tune to appear on Our Label Records. Enjoy... well... if you can ;)

Our Label Records strikes again with two exclusive tunes by Russian Funk Sensation Wake&Bake!. The uptempo Instrumental “PartyStarter” will do as the title suggests. 
It all started in 2005. Influenced by the New Orleans funk wizards the Meters as well as contemporary groups like the New Mastersounds, the Poets of Rhythm and the Soul Investigators, five funk enthusiasts Anton Shustrov, Stas Rybochkin, Ivan Kurzakov, Alexander Shtykov and Sasha Gonzo decided to found a band to play their original stuff, concentrating efforts on sophisticated up-tempo dancers. Since then Wake&Bakers played gigs at different venues both in St. Petersburg and Moscow.

In winter 2007 the band recorded some of their tracks, using old equipment and instruments. For this recording session the group invited the well-known Russian painter, designer and sitar player Alexander Konanchuk as well as Kirill Vetoshkin, a sax player, who later joined the band as the "official" member along with Vladimir Shashkov on trumpet. In September 2007 the group released their first 7" „Funky Blue Beard / Funkie Pie“.

Another recording session took place in summer 2008 at Dobrolet studio in Saint-Petersburg, which led to the composition „PartyStarter“, their new vinyl-single on Our Label Records. Along with instrumentals Wake&Bake! taped the cover version of the well-known funk masterpiece „Soul Woman“, originally by The Charms, with singer Yana Zolotova.

After the great success of „Raw Meat / Song 2“ by Diazpora in 2012, Our Label Records is back with the next Deep Funk classic to be: „Bastard“ by Spanish Funk outfit Mothergroove. A sure addition for the vinyl boxes all over the world!

Initiated by Italian singer, songwriter and producer Gianni Sciannamé in Barcelona, the group is losely based around him and local musicians Abel Boquera (keyboard), Roger Serrahima (drums) and Brasillian bass player Daniel Doctors. After years of playing the local scene and a few Spanish festivals, recording an album, two EP and a single release, the band may feature from four to seven members due to the "family" approach instilled in the group by Gianni.  Mothergroove's sound is heavily influenced by the likes of James Brown, Deodato, Banda Black Rio and Roy Ayers.
And now they are back with an uptempo dancefloor smash on Our Label Records.

"The Jam"  by Spanish Funk outfit Mothergroove is mid-tempo groove machine, dancable and with a jazzy tang. 
Initiated by Italian singer, songwriter and producer Gianni Sciannamé in Barcelona, Mothergroove is losely based around him and local musicians Abel Boquera (keyboard), Roger Serrahima (drums) and Brasillian bass player Daniel Doctors. For "The Jam" flute player Caspar St Charles joined the family. Mothergroove's sound is heavily influenced by the likes of James Brown, Deodato, Banda Black Rio and Roy Ayers.
"The Jam" is the b-side of the 9th 7" vinyl single on Our Label Records, limited to only 500 copies worldwide.
