The first single off Our Man in Berlin's forthcoming sophomore EP 'Spirit Down'.

‘Spirit Down’ is the title track and lead single taken from Our Man in Berlin’s forthcoming sophomore EP. Previous releases (including latest single ‘Molière’) have seen the band tour the country several times, making new fans at each show. At home the band have received recognition & airplay from Triple J, Triple J Unearthed, 4ZZZ, FBI, RRR, RTR, and many other community radio stations. Abroad, airplay has come from College stations in the UK, USA, Greece and on German radio station FluxFM. A considerable online following has amassed through substantial Soundcloud plays in excess of 120,000 and via hugely positive blog reviews that have come in thick & fast from the likes of: IndieShuffle, Hilly Dilly, Stereofox, BitCandy, Hype Machine, Pilerats, PressPlayUK, TheMusicNinja and more. 

The song itself is a scattered stream of consciousness which in hindsight seems to address many of the underlying issues lead singer Haydn Mansell has had with a close family member who suffers from mental illness.

Perth outfit Our Man in Berlin will be performing 4 showcases at the prestigious Music Matters Live festival in Singapore in May this year, followed by a performance at the State of The Art festival in Perth, along with the likes of Birds of Tokyo, You Am I and Sable.

The band will also embark on a national tour for the ‘Spirit Down’ EP (due out June 19) in July with dates TBA.

A Lightbulb Mind, the new single of Perth outfit Our Man In Berlin touches on several themes but primarily discusses the methamphetamine addiction and related psychosis of a close family member of singer Haydn Mansell. A much more honest and organic offering than what has come before, A Lightbulb Mind is a driving, swirling, and cinematic slice of dream rock.

The band has had considerable success in achieving national airplay for their past 7 singles , widespread internet acclaim via top taste making blogs, and an ever expanding live reputation which has seen the band play countless festival stages both at home and abroad. After two very well received EP’s in; “Is it right?” (2014), & “Spirit Down” (2015) the band took time to regroup in 2016. Singer Haydn became a father, whilst Trevor, Dan, and Cain took time out to travel and explore the world. As life pulled the band members in different directions rushes of creativity would consistently remind the four piece that music making is non-negotiable.

A Lightbulb Mind is the first of these rushes to reach completion, with much more to follow over the next 18 months.
