Steinway artist, Chad Lawson, decided Chopin needed a new introduction.  Along with violinist Judy Kang (Lady Gaga, Ryuichi Sakamoto) and cellist Rubin Kodheli (Kanye West, Norah Jones), Lawson has arranged ten Chopin works into a minimalist landscape.

It's a risk editing the "poet of the piano" but one that Chopin would be proud of.  

Taking 10 Chopin works, Lawson decided to scale the works down to a minimalist setting.  "I knew even if bare-bones, Chopin's works could still be as spellbinding as the original compositions we are so familiar with." says the pianist.

 based on Prelude and Fugue in C Minor, BWV. 847 by Johann Sebastian Bach. It is a small solo piano piece written by Ni during his college years. Ni graduated from Wuhan Conservatory of Music and now lives in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, P.R.C. He is engaged in piano education and performing arts. This song shows ups and downs between fixed rhythms, fast yet not chaotic. It is a dialogue that spans east and west, ancient and modern times. The various performances of this song on YouTube added to the saying "Music without borders." This version simplifies the left hand part to reduce difficulty.

When I first heard Frank Hiemenz' brilliant recording of Albeniz' "Asturias" I was inspired to create an chamber orchestra  arrangement around his solo guitar recording to give the piece more of a guitar concerto feel.
