OUZ02 comes from the mind of a new act and a longtime friend. Modus aka Dominic Meade, draws on years of experience in the techno scenes of Glasgow and Edinburgh with his debut 4 tracker, the “Triple M EP”. The music takes inspiration from an era of techno that’s held dearer than any other in Glasgow whilst retaining a style Dom's carved for himself in the studio, through his years DJing with us and as a resident at Edinburgh’s seminal techno party, Substance.

For the first record of the new decade Outer Zone welcomes Modus’ triumphant return for this second part of his “Triple M” sequence.

Standing in direct contrast to the stasis much of modern life has been held in, this EP offers up an opportunity to vicariously enjoy a world, where the futuristic vistas that techno promised at its genesis seem present. Machinic cycles, looping escapism and understated funk are the axes in which this space is rendered, a space that for a moment allows us some respite from stillness.
