The heat is rising with our 5th instalment coming from the volt of Meister Bert Ashra  @b-ashra  veteran from Berlin's 90s underground scene and active still in the city with his Mastering & Sound Design Studio and experimental audio production and studies.

The solo project B. Ashra has existed since 1993. B. Ashra is a live act, DJ, composer, sound designer and mastering engineer. The style is pretty cross-genre and ranges from ambient, experimental, soundscapes and trance techno to deep house and electronic jazz.

For his pure techno and house productions he uses the pseudonym Robert Templa and for the extremely experimental music, trash and gabba he calls himself Hackbert.

Furthermore, B. Ashra is active in several music projects and bands, including: Psychotikum, Cosmic Octave Orchestra, 70db, Morphon and Brain Entertainment Laboratory.

The collection is a double LP With a variety of sounds spacing between Ambient and Minimal - Techno vibes with deep bass-lines and layered melodic progressions written with special care to the evolution of the harmonies such to maintain those hypnotic feeling until the structure comes back together and releases a powerful groove.

A rich Album and a landmark in the growing of the label.

Since then, it has grown constantly same as for his love and passion for underground electronic music.  

This set was recorded at one of our events in Amsterdam at Doka and it is a part of the 3,5 hours opening set journey performed by Lumee.

Having released on Portuguese imprints like Bloop Recordings and Nugs On Board, he is now developing his new duo project Space Riders alongside long time friend Tiago Carvalho. Collector and vinyl digger since the dawn of time, he never disappoints when behind the booth with his deep and solid musical journeys. We are glad he could finally join the oDYcast series with a set recorded at the Beautiful Freaks party in Brussels on May 25th 2024. Enjoy !

This particular mix is very close to my heart for a number of reasons. The primary one is of course, Gabriel. The occasion, being the night of my birthday and the bringing together of two generations at the forefront of my world. Choosing Gabriel to open for Craig Richards.

As you know I have a deep rooted belief in “we need to know where we are coming from to know where we are going”. New and old generations intertwining.

Gabriel is a very unique young talent. He manages to have attritibutes that I only see in matured artists after all these years. Expansive musical knowledge, having the suitability and adaptability to the context at play; be it jazz, electronic or funk. One can feel that in the progression. Introduction, middle, end…

Story telling.

In addition to the artistic competence you have an incredible personality, one that has ambition but also remains humble, never confusing it with self-entitlement, rather …. mutual respect, appreciation and gratitude. Evident to that, he has his own party called Local Moves, born at The lion and Lamb, supporting local artists, enhancing exchange and contributing to the scene he is a part of.

The venue he holds that party residency in now Little Portland Street, also where this set was recorded. LPS is an audiophile space in Central London with a Martion Installation. This venue is very dear to my heart because I programme the Thursday nights there since it opened for nearly 3 years now.

The @cremeclub_leipzig founders boris & davy started playing records together as soon as they met during their studies. Their shared passion for music and electric circuits guided them through countless after-hours sessions and Leipzig’s off-locations, shaping their sound and friendship.
