Podcast 18 for the Svyatki team was recorded by Ki.Mi. @kimimusic  - producer and label owner from St.Petersburg, Russia.
Ki.Mi. started producing music in 1999. Since 2003 he is also a dj and a promoter. In early 2005 he signed contracts with foreign labels on some releases including a full album.

2009 was a special year. His album Muzik Book was released on Superbia label with the track Stereokubizm that was on top 10 chart of Depeche Mode.

A few years later, the talent of the musician lead him to collaborate with such heavyweight electronic music labels as Moon Harbour Recordings, Danse Club Recordings, Haunt and others, as well as to a three-time victory in world remix contests from Beatport.

Kimi is a versatile creative person, which confirms his inherent participation in the unique Technopoetry project, the organization of many events with the participation of world electronic music stars, the presence of his own vinyl labels Kashatskikh and Afterme.

2009 год был одним из значимых в карьере музыканта. В этом году его композиции начинают обретать мировую известность и с завидным постоянством попадать в чарты к известным артистам. Огромным успехом было попадание трека Stereokubizm в топ 10 композиций Depeche Mode, с которым они в дальнейшем ездили по мировому турне. В результате - подписаны контракты со многими крупными лейблами. 

Несколькими годами позднее талант и профессионализм музыканта приводят его к сотрудничеству с такими тяжеловесами электронной музыки как Moon Harbour Recordings, Danse Club Recordings, Haunt и другими, а также к трёхкратной победе в мировых конкурсах ремиксов от портала Beatport. 

Кими является разносторонней творческой личностью, что подтверждает его неотъемлемое участие в уникальном проекте Technopoetry, организация многих мероприятий с участием мировых звёзд электронной музыки, наличие собственных виниловых лэйблов Kashatskikh и Afterme.

Robert Roman is surround sound personified. Through multiple channels, he is seemingly everywhere and all at once. By age 8, he was fascinated by the intricacies and subtleties of quality sound. The inception of his career as a DJ/Promoter was brought to life by 18. Through beach-raves, utilizing generators and local talent, he first showcased his understanding and passion for music. This sent waves through his community sparking a new scene in South Texas, allowing Robert to host international DJs at his club residency for the following two years. His motivation to expand his knowledge brought him to Austin, TX, to attend audio engineering school and immerse himself into the Austin electronic music scene. Robert’s ambition for a select caliber of sound led him to spearhead Movement Collective, a party series based in Berlin and Austin, hosting multiple residencies throughout his tenure. The “movement” this inspired in Austin, ignited Blacktone, an agency and party series, founded by Robert’s friends and colleagues which he is now a part of. Furthering his relentless mission to develop and share diverse music, Robert co-founded ubiyu, a record label and party series in Austin, TX. Ubiyu currently hosts two monthly residencies to showcase their roster of international DJ’s and is steadily releasing digital and vinyl EP’s. Robert's appetite for sublime sound and a unique range of selection will never be satiated.

Following our long-anticipated return, we are elated to be inviting a very special guest for our first mix of 2020. Despite the weird times we may be living in currently, we are absolutely delighted to feature such a dedicated and passionate artist as CHKLTE. As much a confectioner on the decks as he is in the studio, CHKTLE plays with a detailed delicateness. Prepare your ears to be pleased with juicy, vibrant, seductive booms and an unforgettable attention to detail. Originally from a border town in South Texas, he made the move to Austin in Spring 2013. Shortly after he began unveiling his craft as a producer. It was not until the last two years however, that he truly began to discover the roots of the music he makes today. He began to learn how to DJ at the age of 15 with two direct drive Numark turntables and a two-channel mixer. Fast-forwarding to 2019, CHKTLE is now one of the resident DJ’s behind the infamous Blacktone party out of Austin TX which regularly hosts numerous world-renowned artists in the likes of Praslesh, tINI, Herodot, Priku, Alci, Afriqua & many more. In our interview we decided to get the scoop behind the artist and his favorite memories. When asked to name his favorite gigs played thus far, he mentioned, “One of them is my first-time playing Club Der Visionaere in Berlin back in ‘18. I was living in Berlin at the time and found myself there just about every other day, so to finally be able to play the booth of one of the most respected clubs in our scene was truly incredible. The second party that stands out for me is definitely my debut for ADE festival in Amsterdam. We went directly from just hearing Sonja Moonear, Ricardo Villalobos & Raresh - Nothing like a party in a Crane suspended 200 feet in the air at 6AM that went over ten hours... that was special.” When asked where he finds his inspiration, he said from his family and friends, who never fail to stimulate him. “Seeing all my friends being creative always sparks something in me, it makes me want to be just as hard working as them,” he reveals. Aside from music, CHKTLE enjoys spending as much time with his dog Cole as he can, visiting friends, and traveling—although this has been put on pause under the current circumstances. Which leads us to our next question... How many hours a day does he dedicate to music? He declared, “Well now with quarantine and being stuck at home (which I don’t mind) I’m usually on my computer half of the day trying to crank out some ideas - always a trial and error situation. I sometimes go over ten hours of making things and then I delete everything the next morning.” When asked what fans can expect from him for the duration of 2020, he pro claimed, “I have a couple of vinyl releases and some digital work coming out as well, which includes the material I keep putting out on my Bandcamp.” Lastly, we touched upon words of inspiration he may have for aspiring DJs and producers, to which he expressed, “Always be consistent and true to yourself and your own sound... don’t try and mimic others because in the end people want to hear something that is new and different and stands out. Too much of the same sound going around can get a bit boring. Never stop practicing... and don’t be too hard on yourself because then it’s not fun anymore.” There you have it... now prepare to unwind and lose yourself in the sounds of May from CHKTLE. . . ☽ ☯ ♬
