TouchyFeely's is a sonic data orchestra that germinated as my graduation project at UMPRUM.  The orchestra performs different notational scores as live sound compositions through the mediation of Google Translate's audio as an instrument. The Google Translate camera-scan-ready notation scores are composed with what I call "non-letters', as seen in the titles here. The script for the score was composed solely on the smartphone as an exercise, using a mixture of invented symbols and remnants of modified punctuations from various existing languages. The non-letters function as data which take on new sonic meaning when activated by the Google Translate audio function. The sound project can be seen in the tradition of aleatoric music: Here, the changing results of the compositions are mediated by interactions between movement of performers, the notations activated by scanning, and the sound output generated by the AI.
