Italian duo Crossing Avenue debuts on Outis Music with Piromanzia
their fourth solo EP, presenting a fresh batch of their organic rhythm tools. It’s the duo’s first EP on Dino Sabatini’s Outis Music where they released three EPs on Spazio Disponibile before. First track Piromante is a dark and spooky hypnotizer in optimal form. Sacrificio brings out the drums, the pulsating rhythm groove subtly transforms into a playful DJ weapon where the EP closer Fuoco Freddo dives into the deeper techno territories being a true heads down kick drum roller. It’s an exciting selection of carefully crafted noodling jams that makes this an essential pack of Italian techno.

Outis Music Presents: Opera Series 004

Italian sound artist Dino Sabatini is back on his own Outis Music. The label, inaugurated in 2011 by Sabatini himself, is known for the spiritual deeper side of techno and hosted many artists like Claudio PRC, Ness, Edit Select and most recently Italian duo Crossing Avenue. Dino himself appeared for the last time on his own label back in 2017 in collaboration with fellow Luigi Tozzi.
Flash forward to 2023, Sabatini here releases his Opera Quattro EP on the Outis Opera series. A series focussing more on the slowed down, ritualistic side of ambient and deep techno, with his own long players 'Omonimo' and 'Shaman's Paths' as milestone albums. 'Opera Quattro' continues on this path, it's a mesmerizing collection of playful electronica, heavily influenced by trip-hop and dub music, perfectly capturing Sabatini's current state of mind. Balancing in between half-tempo drum and bass and organic techno grooves, it's an essential pack of Italian deep techno trips.

FOREST ON STASYS
 
OWNER AND ELECTRONIC EXPLORER IN DANZA NATIVA.
The creativity of Forest On Stasys is Influenced by tribal minimalist techno in the nineties and the deepest and most abstract techno currently. In his tracks the most seductive elements are the use of resonant basses perfectly combined with long and reverberated pads, extensive sonorous landscapes that are modified by continuous movement of LFO, solid grooves and strident percussions.
But not everything that comes out of his head is created with an intention to be used on the dance floor. He has a great admiration for drone and ambient tracks, without a rhythmic pattern that predominates, where the main factor is to captivate the listener with melodies that can be marked by a strong melancholy or with notes that give a certain feeling of satisfaction depending on his current mood.

Born in NYC, Craft is an experienced Italian producer, music composer and techno DJ based in New York City with strong roots in Rome, Italy. He began as DJ layering instrumental beats in New York in 1994 and started producing original music in Rome by 1999. Craft composed musical scores for film, cinematic videos and modern theatre productions. His discography includes over 100 releases in vinyl and digital formats across EP’s, concept albums, collaborations and remixes on 50+ labels based in a dozen countries. Craft is known for his all vinyl sets, digital performances or live analog acts and is recognized as co-founder New York City’s longstanding underground techno event series “Twice as Proper” founded in 2007. Curating showcase lineups in basements, rooftops, warehouses, clubs and after-hours counting over 270 shows around Manhattan, Brooklyn and beyond. Events were hosted also in Detroit, Washington DC, Barcelona, Terracina, Mexico City and Playa del Carmen showcasing international artists alongside local techno and ambient acts. In 2012 Craft co-founded “Feed The Raver” techno show and was radio host for 6 seasons airied regularly on Saturdays in the UK and online. Bio:

Salva Coromina  aka ABSIS. 
His involvement in the Barcelona scene began in the late 90s under the alias MouseDown/MouseUp, having years of experience as Dj resident in club such as Razzmatazz (The loft) and festivals like Sonar.
He has always been exploring the deeper side of electronic music, moving from ambient to techno. ABSIS currently runs his residency at Laut club in Barcelona with the Midline parties... he is also a resident at the MOSTRA festival in Barcelona and his productions are published on labels such as hivern discs, Affin and Oslated among others.

Aleja Sanchez is a sound artist and DJ born in Colombia, she releases mainly through her own imprint Northallsen Records and is a contributor artist to labels such as Semantica, Bassiani Records, Affin, Informa, among others.
Aleja's sound embrace the realms of hypnotism and explores the fusion between organic soundscapes, experimental, orchestral and acoustic elements, with the powerful load of techno music,revealing a sonic narrative that flows between the mysticism of ancestral cultures and the spiritual power of nature, character translated into her own music production. Currently based in Barcelona, Aleja Sanchez is diving intensively between music production and composition. She has been invited as an artist to perform at venues like Tresor.Berlin (Germany), Stardust(Spain), Razzmatazz (Spain), Perpetum (Czech Republic), Flex (Austria), Sound Department (Italy), Liquid Club (Malta), Dissident (Russia), Khidi (Georgia) among others. In 2019,she was listed by Resident Advisor as one of the greatest international exports of the Colombian techno scene.

Luigi Tozzi is a young Roman artist just twenty-three years old but with a profound musical knowledge. His productions reflect the distinct musical style coming from the Italian capital, a style purveyed by artists now considered icons within the international techno scene. It’s the direct link to this sound that aligns Luigi’s music perfectly with the musical realm of Outis Music. The EP’s opening and title track “Calipso” is dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea “Calypso”, elegantly adding subtly trance-like traits to a classic 4/4 beat. Next piece “Ambrosia” finishes the first side with a deep, sophisticated and refined device dedicated to the Ocean God. Devotion to the return to home is the theme of the following cut “Nostos”, a substantial tool that’s hypnotic and encapsulating. On the EP’s final piece “Nostos (Dino Sabatini Version)”, label founder Dino Sabatini provides a different point of view on Luigi’s original in his own classic and unmistakable style.

It’s a match made in heaven, techno veteran Dino Sabatini meets up and coming talent Luigi Tozzi, who over the last couple of years has delivered stellar EPs for the likes of Hypnus Records, Dynamic Reflection, Mental Modern, and Sabatini’s own Outis Mu- sic. Anyone familiar with the two will know they share an aptitude for adventurous and evolving techno. This is crystallised in this collaboration, which doesn’t take the easy path of creating straightforward club tracks. Instead, the three tracks on this release explore the subtler sides of the two producers. That’s not to say this isn’t club music – it is – but they have a lot more to offer than pure functionality.
The EP opens with Manticora. This eight-minute experience takes the listener through winding claustrophobia as ringing feedback pulses across the stereo field and caver- nous rhythms dance about, hard to quite grab. These rhythms build to a point to which they solidify and fall into place, a point at which the track gains a feeling of propulsion, alongside shifting and emotive reverberations and resonances.
Next up is Celeno, a track that slowly unravels under a backing of shuffling hats and a rolling kick drum. Twinkling synths swirl around before giving way to a rhythmic and compelling melody. Celeno’s musical themes continue into the third and final track, Aello, which eases you in with softer drums while a haunting drone builds up. Over this, ghostly arpeggios develop alongside weightier drums that carry the track through until the end, leaving just enough time for the drone to ring out and provide a fitting end to the EP.

With her I shared consoles and releases and I can say without any doubt that, considering her technique and her musical taste able to fit in any context, she is one of the best artists that I have ever met.

YUKA

Yuka is a female DJ now based in Moscow (where she has lived since 1998), but who began her career in distant Bratsk, Siberia. The town – a local industrial center – is probably more famous for what it dumps than what it makes; in the recent past it was listed as one of the thirty most polluted cities in the world. It wouldn’t take much persuasion for someone to move on… Yuka’s preparation for a shift to the capital’s nightclubs was lengthy, however, since music had played an important role in her life since the age of 6.
Over time, her passions moved in the direction of painting, sculpture, and design – activities she continues to this day. That initial school-day enthusiasm at the piano would eventually win out, though, and dictate her choice of higher education. Her musical training thus led to a degree from the Irkutsk Arts Institute, where she no doubt studied under her real name, Irina Solbutova.
Now that she’s fully ensconced in Moscow, her music appears regularly through the outlets of three labels: Fullpanda, m_division, Pro-Tez. That latter orgniation has also created a series of podcasts in her name for free downloading. The opening broadcast came with a small text that moves swiftly from imaginative fancy to absolute fantasy. In English it reads as follows: “All musicians can be compared to bird-catchers, especially those hunters who’d go looking for songbirds. Some of them would search for a particular type: a nightingale or a lark, perhaps. Others, conversely, would hunt nothing but exotic birds. Once they were caught, the birds would be kept in cages made from sheet music or boxes cut from concert programmes.”
This tendency towards the ornate and magical is a marked facet of her work. When it come to drinks, however, she’s a little more straightforward.

Sandra Mosh

DJ, producer and radio profile Sandra Mosh began DJ’ing in 2008 at various venues in Sweden.  She met a wider audience in 2011 when she got her own dj-show at Swedish national radio and suddenly reached out nationwide every Friday night in Musikguiden i P3.  Since 2012 she's also part of the editorial team at Elektroniskt i P2; a radio show that’s focusing exclusively on electronic music.
Besides mixing underground dance music on air, she's regularly booked to play both in Sweden and overseas. She's played at festivals like Sónar and KaZantip, she made a Boiler Room set in 2014 and has warmed up the floor for artists as varied as Marcel Fengler and Swedish house mafia.
Sandra started producing in 2013 and received a lot of positive feedback and acknowledge through her released remixes for prominent Swedish artists like Gnucci and Kissey. In 2014 she started her own label MOSH Musik where she so far has released two EP:s.
Last year she went on a tour in Australia together with Patrick Siech and continued the year with prominent gigs at Berghain and the Swedish festival Way out West to name a few. She started 2018 with her debut at Tresor and this spring she has releases coming out on TMM Records and her own label.

A year on from Luigi Tozzi and label head Dino Sabatini’s collaborative Manticora EP Outis return with a striking, singular solo work from Tozzi. Ecate EP sees the Roman producer bringing three distinct slices of techno, each with its own set of subtleties and the crystal, adept sound design that defines Tozzi’s work. Spanning the A-side is Ecate. This title track is rolling and hypnotic with muscular, percussive bass. Throughout the track, angelic chords come and go, washing the listener in euphoria. Alongside, we hear a disorienting melody, grounded by the lightly swung four to the floor kick that gives this track an infectious groove. The flip opens with Leto, which immediately defines itself as a club trackwith an unbroken but evolving set of percussion and a weighty kick. It’s around this kick that other elements build. We hear long, ringing, resonant string sounds and a bell like melody morph and unfold as other percussive components come and go. The track falls away into atmospheric eeriness, which perfectly sets the stage for the EP’s finale. Esperede’s swung, panning drums give it a disorienting feeling of otherworldliness from the get go. This is before you’re greeted by an alien, slightly dubbed out melody and a hanting backing drone that feels like a reference (perhaps in opposition) to the angelic chords of the EP’s first track. It’s on this closing track that Tozzi’s delicate, expert sound design best shines through.

Surt is a project conceived by the mind of a young italian producer who started developing his sound a few years ago.
His interest in music dates back to his childhood when his father decided that learning to play the piano was the best choice for him to start his journey.
During his adolescence he worked as a dj around his hometown, but at some point he understood that producing and playing his own music was the way to fully express himself.
He debuted last year with his first EP on Northallsen Records. Soon after he followed it up with a second EP on the same label and then his latest EP on Deepbass’ Informa Records called Quadripartita Ratio, a mapping of literary concepts with introspective soundscapes.
His sonorities are characterised by clean solid basslines mixed with a fine sound design and dreamy, sometimes melancholic, backgrounds.

Maurizio Cascella is an elegant, complete artist. His production, with unique and profound sounds, tells his passion and his multiform artistic imagination. Passion that is reflected in its immense collection of vinyls, an artistic laboratory that is not only an archive but an inexhaustible source of inspiration and production.

The idea of ​​creating a model of original music through the harmonious fusion between different styles makes it from the beginning a DJ and an extremely eclectic producer. Born in 1977, Cascella is an undisputed reference point of the Roman electronic scene that has distinguished itself and rooted in the international scene. From the beginning in ’93 with the historical UMM label to the productions signed with Joe Casagrande for the electronic label Romana distributed exclusively worldwide by the German Kompakt, his musical career is tight and constant. In 2010 he founded the label Concrete Records together with Phooka and Daniele Bazzanti, producing artists such as Voices From The Lake, Minilogue, Cassegrain.

After ten years of futile siege the Greeks, following a plan devised by Odysseus, pretended to renounce to the conquest of the city and come back home leaving on the beach a huge wooden horse; it was intended as offering to appease the gods and propitiate the return trip in homeland. But hidden inside the horse there were the bravest Greek warriors led by Odysseus.
Odysseus's plan included a  man who would have been left outside of the horse.
A Greek soldier named Sinon was the only volunteer for the role.
In Virgil's poem, Sinon successfully convinces the Trojans that he has been left behind and that the Greeks were gone.
Sinon tells the Trojans that the Horse was an offering to the goddess Athena, meant to expiate for the previous desecration of her temple during the Troy's siege by the Greeks, and ensure a safe journey home for their fleet.
The Horse was built on such a huge size to prevent the Trojans from taking the offering into their city, and thus garnering the favor of Athena for themselves.
The Trojans, happy for this, dragged the horse inside the city walls, despite Laocoon and the prophetess Cassandra had previously advised them not to.
In our case the task of opening the doors of the fourth release (Outis004) has been entrusted to another dear friend and respected musician from Rome,
Mr. Brando Lupi;
I shared with him , even if not directly, the years spent in Elettronica Romana and Dozzy Records.
He has delighted us with a wonderful mix and I am truly honored to be able to host him on this label.
From my personal point of view Brando has a unique taste and his music is a strong feeling of a versatile artist without cliché and that's why his music has always intrigued me.

OYTIΣ was used as a pseudonym by the Homeric hero Odysseus, when he fought Polyphemus Cyclops, and had put out the monster’s eye. Polyphemus shouted in pain to the other Cyclopes of the island that “Nobody” was trying to kill him, so no one came to his rescue. The story of the Cyclops can be found in the song of the Odyssey.
“Cyclops, you asked my noble name, and I will tell it; but do you give the stranger’s gift, just as you promised.
“My name is Nobody. Nobody I am called by mother, father, and by all my comrades.”
I feel inspired by this Greek character OYTIΣ (nobody)and  this label is named after him.
A sonic representation of the sensations I like to be possessed by.
This is exactly how I love techno and electronic music to sound like, this is what I love to dance to.
