The original album floats, but here it glides with intent: transitions stretch, rhythms smudge, and moments you thought were gentle show up with weight. It’s not a reinterpretation, just a different tilt of the head. The future and the past don’t touch—but in this mix, they pass close enough to blur.

https://soundcloud.com/patriciakaas: It's quite a while since I've recorded a mix reflecting a dancefloor. So this one is definitely a special one. It captures my diverse taste for intellectual and tense electronic music. Filled with old gems as well as recently released psychotic tracks, the mix delivers a melomaniac rollercoaster. Take a dizzy sip!

The music of the Lithuanian producer Gediminas Jakubka, who turns into Patricia on stage, balances between borders. Patricia Kokett blends rave with mysticism, futuristic industrial with shamanic noise, and various reworked voices with hypnotic output. With his 2020 debut album ‘Bizarr’ (12” vinyl) on Dutch Knekelhuis imprint, Patricia Kokett quickly proved his knack for creating transcendental, immersive sonic experiences. 

Following up with touring around Europe’s clubs, the covid period was an existential stop and a deep moment of reflection. In addition to this, Patricia Kokett has finished the third EP entitled ‘Psykhe’, which was released on the ‘Isla to Isla’ label on 12” vinyl in 2023. Psykhe continues to explore his distinct sound, but taking it in a new direction: a step away from the euphoric new age dance floor and into a significantly murkier, more precarious territory.

Explaining his music as ‘trippy techno,’ Patricia Kokett enhances this epithet in highly emotional and wild live sets. The forthcoming live gigs will consist of new music from the upcoming record, filled with the trippy ethos of electronica. DJ sets always contain adventurous and challenging sounds, which lead listeners to uncharted territories.

Gediminas Jakubka also works as a cinema composer and has a couple of movies which has to be noted. ‘Animus Animalis’ by Aiste Zegulyte, released in 2019, and ‘Toxic’ by Saule Bliuvait,e released in 2024. The latter OST was released on a vinyl record and is being qualified as the second full-length album by Gediminas Jakubka/Patricia Kokett.

Music for Rubberduckies and Elastobabes: James Dean Brown rubberises the dancefloor to enhance the shake-and-bounce factor.

A brief history of the Twist: In the early 60es a chubby orthopaedic checker invented some rhythmic skidding and swinging in order to compensate hip deficiencies of the Western civilization via music therapy. However, by reason of North American hygiene regulations people were advised to perform these dance patterns only in a discarnate manner.

About twenty years later, venturous folks with gigantic extension leads revisited this courageous rhythm concept to cast it before the feet of the compliant New Wave community who did not hesitate to transform the round dance into a square one.

Just under twenty years later again, a couple of hermetically organized kids were heavily encouraged to throw drum kits in a Twist mode down the stairs and called it Drum'n'Bass.
