Outlook 2019 Mix Series

We welcome production powerhouse duo Levrige to the Chikara catalogue with their “Karma” EP. 

Nearly two years ago, Levrige and label honcho’s Mystic State met through a mutual friend, headed to the Levrige studio in Downtown Vancouver, and began writing some break-driven, 160bpm drum lines and ethereal pads over a crate of beer. 

After some passing back and forth over the coming years, “Undercurrent” was born, and when Levrige sent over some demo ideas for Chikara, the “Karma” EP came together. The titular track is a smooth 170bpm roller with a killer bassline and  colourful percussive hits, and the final track “Readjusting” is a tough, synth-heavy monster with a heap of vintage flair.

Charla Green is a producer, DJ, singer /songwriter hailing from the north of the UK. After releasing her debut EP ‘Bust’ on UK Jungle Records in 2018, she has had other releases on labels such as Boey Audio and Concrete Jungyals. 
Her dedication to her craft hasn't gone unnoticed with her music being played on Hospital Records - 'Producers To Watch' in 2020, as well as Rinse FM, Kiss FM and BBC Sheffield. 
Her heavy dj sets have also seen her play the likes of Boomtown Festival, Balter and be a resident for WubClub, UKJungle and the 'Off Me Nut' crew. 
She has recently been picked up by the EQ50 mentorship 2020 scheme working with Dj Mantra & Function Records to develop her production with a long term goal of tutoring other women in the industry

Having started mixing in 2017 as an extension of that passion for supporting new and underrated music, she has since gone on to play gigs across the UK & EU - including Fabric, London - and featured on Rinse FM, Sub FM, Reprezent Radio and more. Beth hosts ‘The New Music Show’ every third Thursday of the month on 1020 Radio featuring her pick of the best new music from underground and underrated artists. Her most recent project is showcase event series, ‘Heater’, with a focus on platforming newly emerging underground and underrated artists and connecting them with the professional music industry, she also runs record label Foto Sounds which released it’s first compilation in January this year.

With releases with Sector 7 sound and VIVEK'S SYSTEM label under his belt, Drone continues to make his mark on the dubstep scene. With atmospheric synth elements fused with powerful low-end sounds and crisp percussion, his sound is his own, and one that has weight to shake any system. 

This hour long contribution is packed full of dubs from the man himself as well as the ever growing community of forward thinking producers and peers.

For the final instalment of our Final Fort 2019 mix series we have dubstep pioneer Youngsta providing a high energy, 140 focused mix. From the days of Tempa records to his current imprint Sentry, Youngsta has been at the forefront playing an important role supporting the up and coming producers throughout the scene and continuing the legacy deep within the scene. This mix displays the energy you'll witness within a Youngsta set whether at the fort or otherwise, making no exceptions with selections, packed full of dubs and exclusives from a variety of rising producers as well as a sprinkle of his own production.
