In 2017 nøvae stood the fist time behind a small DJ booth in a bar in Lübeck. From this point her enthusiasm was sparked to play electronic music herself. One year later she moved to Leipzig where she founded the muy bien collective with some friends. Since 2020 she is part of the Brotfabrik Crew. Characteristic is a melodic progressive style with some indie dance sounds. But depending on the evening it’s also possible to hear a classic disco track. 

In this mix I tried to give the past dark months of nightlife and empty streets in Leipzig some feeling of warm summer melodies, remembering you, that hopefully soon again you will meet happy people talking without worries and having drinks on every corner.

Saito is a beatmaker from '93 with boombap, chill-hop and lo-fi influences. He discovered hip hop at the age of 12 and fell in love with since the very first listening. At age 19, he started making his first beats inspired by the legendary Japanese producer and DJ Nujabes. The first beats had ambient tones but kept hip hop roots. By deepening his beatmaking knowledge, he began to get more and more into boombap and lo-fi sounds.

Born and raised in Mainz, Andy first got in contact with making music around the year 2000 by learning to play the classical guitar. He’s always been drawn to electronic sounds but it took him 26 years before he actually dove into the genres of house, tech house and finally techno. Not long after being an enthusiastic guest at raves he decided to become a DJ and a host at events. Borrowing a very basic DJ controller from a friend he started learning the technical skills and then organized smaller raves. There he met the right companions for an even bigger idea: creating a cultural club for supporting the needs of the rave community and to form a network that could help create safe and sustainable spaces that had been diminished by economic motives. Since 2021, the community of EinKlang has been growing and Andy has refined his sound from a more playful style in the beginning to darker sounds. His focus is primarily on tech house and techno, where he combines high energy with a solid groove and interesting sound design ideas. Nonetheless, his love for electronic music doesn’t stop there and he occasionally finds new jewels in other sub genres such as minimal tech or downtempo. 

For this set, he tried to show the sinister side of his city which is usually a place of joy and happiness at daytime. This deep tech and techno selection will convey his feeling of Mainz: often you don’t get the night’s energy easily presented, you rather have to look out for it. You’ll find it eventually and when you do, it’s going to be of the most rewarding experiences.

I can't say it any differently: The time in Israel in March this year saved my life. I met good people there, who helped me cope with depression, panic attacks and the faith I had lost. 

Jerusalem at night is an incredible city and like no other place on earth. The different cultures and religions make a huge impact, not only on the touristic area in the old town. It can be frightening first to see heavily armed security guards and CCTV basically everywhere, even to the point where they stopped me from filming and searched my backpack. 

I know it's bad timing but I would love it, if people saw Jerusalem at night the way it was half a year ago.

Mit einfachen Worten erklärt Markus Weicker seinen Künstlernamen, und genauso klingen auch die Beats des Produzenten: bodenständig, ehrlich, unsynthetisch. Der Offenbacher, der 2010 erstmals eine MPC in die Hand bekommt und einige Jahre eher für sich im Kämmerlein Instrumentals baut, steht nicht auf den dicken Aufstrich.
Lieber pflegt Gibmafuffi das oldschoolige Eastcoast-Erbe des 90er-Hip Hop. Der Autodidakt feiert entspannte, warme Boom Baps mit leichter Jazznote, implementiert in seine Tracks Vocalcuts von Curse, Blumentopf und Retrogott.
"Dexter Gordon, Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan, Paul Desmond, John Coltrane, eine Flasche Jägi und eine Packung Tabak: für mich der perfekte Abend", unterstreicht Weicker.
2014 sorgt er mit der Beinahe-Instrumental-EP "Trinkhallenromantik" für erstes Aufhorchen. Anfang 2016 veröffentlicht der langjährige Freund und Beatbastler von Döll seine erste eigene Instrumental-LP. Labelheimat bieten die Heilbronner von WSP Entertainment.
Noch vor der Musik arbeitet Weicker semi-hobbymäßig mit seinem Bruder Michael als Videoproduzent. Unter dem Namen The Factory basteln die beiden unter anderem Videos für Kollegah oder Genetikk. Zu seinen musikalischen Traumproduktionen rechnet Gibmafuffi Hiob, Karate Andi und Audio88 & Yassin.
"Liebe für Jazz, Soul und Musik aus den 70ern auf Vinyl hatte ich schon immer", erklärt Gibmafuffi. "Es gibt für mich nichts Größeres, als stundenlang Musik durchzuhören." So nutzt er für seine Veröffentlichungen auch obskure Samples, bei denen mal DDR-Jazz, mal alte kroatische Fernsehserien als Quelle dienen.

Hi, I'm Pain au Chocolat 79 (Frizzante). I grew up in the southwest of Germany and have been living in the southeast for over ten years now. Starting out as a conscious rap and funk DJ, I currently play mostly broken electronic sounds with a lot of bass from jazzy to cheesy. I also try to produce tracks like that but yeah, it’s not that easy :).

For me, Nuremberg's nightlife is strongly linked to DIY culture. There are so many diverse crews and collectives shaping the night (and sometimes the day). While it seems to be rather quiet in the city, especially in the city center, you can be sure that there is always something going on in the surrounding neighborhoods. Sometimes I think if it's the city's industrial history that's responsible for the strong (electronic) music scene here. And sometimes I wonder whether it's because of the Bavarian government that the scene has to organize itself so often on a voluntary basis. Either way, it's there and it's beautiful. Kudos to all the bass heads, breakbeat people and other active humans who turn the night into an inclusive experience for everyone and make us forget the struggle of everyday life <3

From Düsseldorf to Bonn, from Cologne to Mainz. Before moving on again, Léon returns to the place where he first met Hendrik in 2017. The record collection, which was previously characterized by hip-hop, jazz and reggae, finds its electronic origins here. Somewhere between trip-hop, deep house, spherical ambient and dubby techno, Léon is always on the lookout for new music to float with you through the night.

Born and raised in the Ruhr area, Hennig, fka Hendrik Flügel, had limited access to electronic music. But after moving to Bonn and attending his first raves, his love for deep, melancholic and breaking beats took hold. In 2018, he was one of the founders of einausflug.de, now one of the city's most thriving underground music event collectives.

When Hendrik told his girlfriend that he was supposed to write something about the nightlife in Bonn, she said, that there was nothing to write about. In fact Bonn’s underground music scene has had some tough years, with almost all electronic clubs closing down within the last 10 years.
Recently, however, some strong collectives, such as balavagn, C13, KOMM RAVEN and einausflug, have been able to establish themselves trying to keep the party going in the former capital of Germany.

When I uploaded Outro Podcast Episode 1, I thought about upcoming Deep House Sets, Tech House, Dub Techno, HipHop & RnB and maybe even some Drum & Bass. I never imagined that I'd have a Latin Downtempo Slowhouse Set on the show. But here we are. 
About two months ago @danielsan_music sent me a message, showed me what his idea was for an episode and simply blew my mind. A few days later he uploaded the podcast episode which has been on rotation for a good month now and I am so glad to finally release this masterpiece. 
Daniel is a multiinstrumentalist from Stuttgart who walks through the genres without hesitation and started making his own tracks and edits lately.  For Outro Podcast 15 he picked some brilliant Latin Downtempo tracks and mixed them into a slowly driving story of which I enjoy every second.

Vrusi comes from near the beautiful city of Würzburg in Bavaria.
However, he discovered his love for electronic music during an internship in the techno capital of Berlin. Today he runs the Peace Peter label together with his Berlin friends.
Due to the urge to bring the love of electronic music closer to others, Vrusi can of course also be heard in clubs in Würzburg and Berlin.

The video was recorded in Würzburg only a few weeks ago. I had a great view over the city during sunset and walking around the city at night was amazing aswell.

After watching a VHS from Elevator DJ Magazine in his late teens, mømø ditched his classical guitar lessons, checked out his bank account and got himself a pair of Technics, scratching away to soon become a background DJ in a rap crew.
After getting enchanted by his first club night in Frankfurt he found himself lost in the myths of electronic music, a spell yet to be broken.
As of late, mømø has been on a mission to find the fuse that ignites sound without borders, multiversing back and forth between analog and digital to burst free of genre limitations while maintaining a solid quality spectrum of sound that resonates within the ear, heart and brain alike, becoming an artist of the unexpected & the solid.

Svenja aka Tante Kante is quite new in the game. The full time teacher, mother of two has been loving techno since the 90s. Now, after a long break from the dance floor she is back and this time behind the decks, playing mostly minimal, deep and tech house mixed with some dance classics and 89s. She is a resident at Kiosk Freudenberg (Wiesbaden), played at Pracht (Frankfurt), Vogeltränke (Kreativfabrik Wiesbaden), has a gig in the summer at CoronArts and played sets with Bebetta, released podcasts for Bunker Kollektiv (Gießen), Dance Apart (Berlin) and now makes her debut at Outro Podcast. She also just recently announced her upcoming gig at Feel Festival.

I've been living here for 11 years now and I still feel like I am 'The New One'. I love the Taunus and that more than half of the city adjoins to it. And I love the houses. A true connection is still missing, though. But something connects me to the young people of Wiesbaden: We find the city much too boring. But I have not given up hope that it will be more colourful very soon.

Outro 42 was mixed by @tim-eder, founder of @feuilletonmusic and resident deejay at Tanzhaus West / @dora-brilliant (Frankfurt) and Dorett Bar (Mainz).
Tim Eder is a DJ and graduate Audio Engineer living in Mainz / Germany. He is a DJ and graduate Audio Engineer living in Mainz / Germany. He is collecting and spinning records since he is 14 years old. His style is defined as an atmospheric journey from House to Techno and back - meandering between deep, groovy, funky, jazzy, discoish, soulful, dubby and trippy vibes. Tim's taste is heavily influenced by the sound of the early days of Chicago House and Detroit Techno. Together with the impact of the Rhein-Main area and the bearings from Berlin's scene, he developed a profound understanding and very own definition of electronic music. Besides the four on the floor, he is deep into experimental Trip-Hop and cinematic Ambient. Tim is working at the SAE Institute Frankfurt, where he shares his passion and skills with likeminded music lovers. Since 2018 he is running the vinyl label ''Feuilleton Music'' together with his longterm fellow and DJ partner Chris Gruber aka Fossar.

The video was recorded in Frankfurt mid January 2021, when the streets were deserted and it just had snowed. Tim about Frankfurt:
When I think of Frankfurt, I think about my resident club Tanzhaus West. It’s located in an old paint factory in the Gutleut area. Surrounded by a rather cold industrial scenery, I had some of the best moments in life on the small and intimate floor called Dora Brilliant (@dora-brilliant). 
But not only the extrovert club experiences are coming to my head when I think about this gem of a location. Sitting in the oasis next to the little pond in the garden of the backyard and listening to the water coming out of the disco ball fountain is pure relaxation, too.
These times I often think about the nights and days I spent there dancing with likeminded people. To keep the connection to this magical place in times of the pandemic, I recorded a special Ambient and Dub set with sounds that I usually play on the chillout floor or in the garden of the venue.
