It's a great time in Hip Hop for the lyricist. The things I say on this track needed to be said. Needed to be heard. Black Avocado is the voice of a young Afro-caribbean Kid or the African American male who struggles to be accepted by white america. In the song's cover art we see a blind woman touching the face of an African American man (Sidney Poitier). To me this is the representation of how some Americans deal with people of color. They buy the movie, sports, and concert tickets, but when the lights go out, its back to being a blind nation. When will we open our eyes? 

Me and my homie Thosh Collins were listening to Black Milk's "When The Sky Falls" and noticed a one bar loop at the end of the song that we just couldn't ignore. So Thosh added the bassline and I let the Lion loose on the mic. What you have hear speaks for itself. #OVEOUS #BLACKAVOCADO

This set was recorded live on a sandy beach in the tropics of Tulum Mexico in February of 2023. I was asked to play to celebrate the Tulum Crypto Club's 2nd year anniversary. I threw down a Hyper Ancestral set to set off many intentions. One of them was me asking the orisha Yemaya to cleanse us of our past lessons so that we may enter this next chapter of our lives with a clearer passion for the freedom and self LOve that comes with truth.
