My friend Cocoe at Grand Avenue Records in Phoenix, AZ recently reminded about this mix I did for his show back in... I want to say 2003ish... or in and around that time?! He said he plays it in the record shop all–time. I had no idea. I asked him to rip & send. This is my first time listening to it since I recorded it. I was pleasantly surprised. What do you think?

This week’s guest on Fade to Sunset by Ana Fernandez is none other than Paris-born, Tokyo-raised, Berlin-based DJ, music producer and world-famous label owner, Alex from Tokyo

Co-producing under the name Tokyo Black Star he has released original material on the Berlin-based labelInnervisions, as well as on the label Reincarnation by Italian tastemakers Slam Jam, Kerri Chandler’s label Basemental and has remixed for such legendary artists Tony Allen, & Carl Craig. Alex is one of the resident DJs at Berlin’s infamous Cocktail d'amore and for the Aquarian Shift party at club OHM. 
The world famous label relaunched digitally and physically from Berlin in the Fall 2019. Be on the lookout for new original music, compilation projects and collaborations by Alex as well as some new Tokyo Black Star projects in 2021!

Not much is known about Pete Blaker, and it seems he’d prefer to keep it that way. What is known about the Amsterdam based producer and DJ is that he has made a number of slick edits that instead of being released to the public, have ended up in the capable hands of  DJ Harvey and played in his sets around the globe.  

While Pete tends to keep it quiet, his productions and edits made a lot of noise at Pikes Ibiza and countless other locations on Harvey’s world tours.  We were pleased to track Pete down for a mix for our EXCURSIONS series.  He was kind enough to give us an exclusive hour mix composed of some of his favorites.  Even in social distance mode Pete’s mix is bound to get your heart racing.  Pete’s mix is a great warmup for the dancefloor that we hope will re-emerge in 2021.
