I wish there were more places on earth where clubbing crowds are open minded enough to dance like crazy to this kind of set. It took place on Saturday morning, playing into the sunrise of the Cosmic Stage in Chemnitz/Germany. All improvised and inspired by all the other outstanding dj sets that I have the chance to witness yearly at this very sacred spot called Cosmic Gathering/Camp Cosmic. I'm very grateful to be part of this ever inspiring community like no other. After 5 years it's the first time the recording of my set actually succeeded so I'm excited to share it with you, full of errors, fx overdosing, much laughter and crazy dancin'. Thanks to everyone involved and cya next year!

"A Wrinkle In Time" is a series of curated guest mixes inspired by John Peels habit to accidentally play records at the incorrect number of rpm. Though it never failed to annoy and embarrass him, one of the tribute compilations released after his death was given the title "Right Time, Wrong Speed". Nowadays Wrongspeeders are a popular and fun tool for most DJs. "A Wrinkle In Time" is not about playing 45s on 33 or the other way round though, but it has one important rule, its only rule: Don’t get too close to the original playing speed of the record, the area between +4 and -4 on the pitch scale of the turntable is a forbidden zone.

Start your week right with this mix by Gramigna. An all-Italian excursion into dancefloor obscurities from the late 70s and early 80s. Gramigna remembers being obsessed with records since the tender age of 10 when he first got his way into his parents' collection and has been collecting ever since. He self identifies as a "nerd" who cleans every single record after each DJ set - a quality we surely wish we saw more often amongst record collectors and DJs today, who love to pull records out of their sleeves squeezing the first grooves of the records with their dirty greasy fingers like they're a fish or something.
We hope you enjoy this 1 hour and a half of delightfully thick research, thick as a slice of mozzarella di bufala campana in the deepest valleys of Lazio. Thank you Gramigna for this precious mix, to the highest standards of Denominazione di origine controllata e garantita (DOCG) ❤️

' Zozo is a music curator, collector and radio host from Istanbul, known for experimenting at the fringes of dance music. One way or another, she has grown to be one of the most outstanding selector DJs in her country. Following the motto ‘life is hard but music is good’ since an early age, she has a seasoned character and deep understanding of the dynamics of the dancefloor, with which she communicates with empathy. That has kept her busy on the weekends: she has brought her versatile taste to iconic dance floors as Panorama Bar, Contact Tokyo, Primavera Festival, De School, Ankali Prague, Robert Johnson or Salon des Amateurs. She is also a regular in high-rated festivals as Berlin Atonal, Waking Life, Lente Kabinet, Flow Festival, Strange Sounds From Beyond, Dekmantel and its Selectors offshoot.

She's also a part of the Lyon based label & dj crew Macadam Mambo and resident of Berlin institution Sameheads. AXEL H & CAO BRAVO presents: El Mundo de Quilca

Peru, a country with a rich geographic and cultural diversity, is mostly known to the international music community as the epicenter of cumbia and its psychedelic variants. Unknown to most, a handful of groups have experimented with sounds related to disco and synth-pop in the 80s that were unpopular at the time and thus have mostly been forgotten over the years. 

@axelhaxel (@kitchensessions_int), an epidemiologist and collector residing in Lima, has spent the last 6 years digging records in Quilca, a small and dusty gallery in the center of Lima with improvised vinyl stalls, as well as sourcing records from elsewhere across Peru.

Sharing a common interest to explore Peruvian "Disco" output, Axel has teamed up with @caobravo, a surgeon and well-respected record collector across Latin America, to record “El Mundo de Quilca” a vinyl-only mix of neglected and often impossible-to-find Peruvian disco gems, exploring a variety of different styles, moods, and energy levels. 

Some of the tracks in this mix will be featured in an upcoming compilation to be released in early 2023 on @buhrecords, a Peruvian label run and curated by Luis Alvarado, who has provided valuable insights into this mix.

Marco produces and performs live with felllow band members as well as DJs (alone)under the moniker MLiR or Modern Life is Rubbish. He is also one of the deep-digging minds behind the infamous @magicteapotrecords online store, still operating, but now via Soundcloud and Instagram accounts instead, where you can keep up with their freshest digs and latest finds. Marco is a tireless digger, encompassing many, if not all genres and has a long history of presenting great mixes to the world.
