The second version conducted by Nouveau Monica as an alternate 4/4 version of the same title, harmonizes the repetitive chopped vocals with a technically syncopated drum loop designed for a new mental perspective, an after-hours sensation that blurs the line between euphoria and melancholy.

he Concealed Club Manifesto project pays homage to the mid 2000s underground UK club music scene, an era of music which acts as well of inspiration and creativity for the Nouveau Monica, and has no doubt helped shaped his sound. For the French producer, the UK club scene holds a special allure and mystique, especially since he observed this phenomenon from afar, and was idealized as one of the most “pivotal” moments in underground club culture, making it seem intangible, hence concealed. Nouveau Monica’s sound palette is deeply rooted in the UK scene, which he combines with his own personal musical background. This mid 2000s UK club sound is what the producer defines as his “Golden Era” and the genres created during that time are the building blocks of the Concealed Club Manifesto EP.

We are incredibly excited and grateful to present 'NOCTURNO' - the first proper LP release by Chilean producer, Masot. The 10 tracks effortlessly traverse multiple genres throughout the album arc, showcasing a highly detailed and carefully designed sound palette - one which remains remarkably intact throughout the whole journey.

Moments of Nocturno feel melancholy and pensive, but never void of the hypnotic and percussive 2-step rhythms that feel like a darker take on the historically upbeat sound of UK 2-step and Garage.

Each song is meticulous, but not over-indulgent. The intricacy, melodic elements and club utility allow the LP to be as functional for the club as it is for at home listening.

Following up on a cracker split single last year, Overload Liverpool jumps into 2024 firing on all cylinders with a 5 shooter of freaked-out electro, warm house, deep dub cuts, and gorgeous ambient.

Firstly, Liverpool-based label boss Morrison highlights two of his distinct and dissociative styles. On the front end of the A-side, his The Motorist alias provides us with a freaked-out formant-filtered electro that’s bursting at the lips. On the back end, a deep yet bright house cut from his The Cyclist alias, with warm warbling synths layered over his Wurlitzer electric piano and suitably grooved and jaunty beats.

To kick off the deeper B-side of the 12”, Wax Tek, a founder of the Liverpool Soundsystem crew Polyone Audio, hits us right in the chest with his dubbed-out breakbeat wonder, Get Set, which diverges through Balearic, bass music, a delirious breakdown, and hard-hitting breakbeats.

Deeper still, the second B-side from Puncta, another Liverpool-based artist, who last year came to light with their release on Sputnik One’s N-Face, dives into the deep Arctic seas with Snow Crab, an exercise in dubbed-out electro-style bass music.

Finally, Belfast-based Aaron Thomas brings the 12” EP to a fitting closure with Concert², which, washing over the listener, dances like opulent drapes with its ethereal synths that crash to and fro.

Lixo, the production alias of Alex Hislop, renowned founder of the influential London party collective, GETME!, unveils his latest musical offering. With over two decades of experience and a diverse portfolio of work, Lixo continues to push boundaries and explore new sonic territories.

GETME! has solidified its position as a cornerstone of London's music scene over the past 15 years, boasting a back catalogue of over twenty records and making appearances on esteemed platforms such as Rinse FM, NTS, Balamii, and BBC Radio 1Xtra. Lixo has collaborated with artists like Trim and Quays, and his previous releases have garnered widespread acclaim earning support from radio heavyweights Benji B, Mary Anne Hobbs, Toddla T, Huw Stephens, and Jamz Supernova, and more.

In his latest release, Lixo showcases his versatility by delving into a diverse array of sounds, drawing inspiration from various genres and scenes, and effortlessly navigating different BPMs. From the deep undulating rhythms of ‘Vyanese’ to the rubbery, euphoric synths and hypnotic groove of ‘Wur’, Lixo invites listeners on a journey through an eclectic sonic landscape.

Lixo then seamlessly blends syncopated rhythms and twinkling melodies in ‘Start’, before culminating in the irresistibly emotive club-cut, ‘Blop’.

Lixo's latest release is a testament to his ongoing commitment to innovation and exploration within the electronic music sphere. With each track, he invites listeners to immerse themselves in a world of sonic experimentation and creativity.

Contempo is thrilled to welcome the dynamic and innovative Fvndo to its imprint with his debut release, "Reasoning".

With music in his veins from a young age, Fvndo has evolved from a prodigious drummer in rock bands and philharmonics to a master of electronic soundscapes. His journey through music, punctuated by a formal education in musical creation at Lisbon's Restart institution, has culminated in a style that is both industrial and bold, marked by pure and raw techno rhythms.

Roll Dann, a veteran of the techno scene with releases on labels like Klockworks and Mord known for his aggressive yet enveloping style, Adds a potent remix to the lineup.

Fvndo's EP showcases the ability to craft tracks that captivate and engage, featuring complex textures and unique spatial qualities. The title track, "Reasoning," sets the stage with its rhythmic groove and precise drum patterns. Roll Dann's remix of "Reasoning" adds a burst of energy, featuring high-octane beats and meticulous textural details, perfect for peak-time play. "Specificity" maintains the hypnotic mood with looping sequences, while "Decipher" energizes with sharp percussion and lively rhythms.
